Having your team and leaders by your side is all the strength you need to gear up post maternity leave. My journey at Practo couldn’t have been better had my team not stood by me in one of the most cherished journeys of my life. I recently became a mother and it’s a life changing experience for any woman. Initially, I was scared as to how it would shape my professional career and how I would manage my newborn and work and myself and a thousand apprehensions ran through my mind. Returning to work after my maternity leave was a mix of excitement and nervousness. When we women are at the peak of our careers, we think a lot before planning a family. Sometimes, we are scared to lose it all and it’s a very legit feeling. However, I chose to take the leap of faith and I must say it turned out to be one of the most beautiful decisions of my life. After returning to work, I was offered more challenging projects and even received a promotion for all the hard work I put in. We women are so much stronger than we believe we are. I worked with a male-dominated team and the kind of support and faith I have received from them during my maternity spoke volumes. They made me realize the importance of progress over perfection, which has shaped my growth both as a leader and a strategic thinker. The mentorship I’ve received, along with the chance to manage cross-functional projects, has truly honed my skill set and boosted my confidence in tackling complex challenges. My talent and skills were never once doubted and I had my team’s undying support in every project I lead. While Practo reminds us that we are a mission-driven team, it also encourages us to not miss our little wins. My joy of becoming a mother was shared not just by me but my entire team and that is something which left a very positive impact on me. Being a mother and a Practeon is practically having two jobs and I cannot pull it off without my family and my team having my back. Also, this employee really really counts on her detox methods to keep the energy going. My go-to move to detox and relaxing is cooking. It’s my creative outlet that helps me recharge and increase my focus in life. Cooking might sound like a simple hobby but I have learned the value of simple things and celebrating small wins. What I shared today is very close to my heart and I would like to conclude it by saying that we Practeons are a bunch of highly inspiring communities of people who support each other in our shared journey to make a difference and that’s all that matters in the end. ❤ - Shivani #PeoplePowerPracto
