Unpopular Opinion - every startup story doesn’t begin with a big investor's cheque. Some of the world’s best companies have been built bootstrapped! ✅ Bootstrapping isn't just a backup plan -- it's a strategy that's launched giants. ✅ Think deeply about: why do I need this funding? And, where will I use it? ✅ News articles and fame isn’t the answer. The journey doesn’t end after you raise capital -- it begins. ✅ External capital is a boost to the speed of the treadmill. You have to be ready to run faster so that you can fulfill your fiduciary responsibility and give the investors their desired return. ✅ Remember, everyone’s answer to success isn’t the investors' cheque and so, sometimes the best resources you have are your vision, your drive, and the ability to make every penny count. #funds #capital #venture #funding #startups

i don't know why most of so called Start-up advisors are like how to raise ,where to raise, how to pitch to an investor, why terminology to use while pitching. why are are not about how to be profitable , how to scale without bleeding money and other conventional ways to healthy business operation i.e to make money. #Justathought #startupadvisory #startup #vcfund

Highly Recommended Post & Comment: Elliot L. " I think the VC model is too capital intensive at the moment. Earning itself a lot of misunderstanding. VC for a long time has been an enabler for growth without profit, which drinks capital! A shift to VCs focusing on actively helping their portfolio drive revenue and focus on profit will be where we shift. This will see far higher survival rates for the portfolios, hopefully enabling required multiples to be lower. The obvious problem here is that even fewer start-ups will qualify for VC capital, not more. Does that mean VC is outdated and needs to disappear? I'm biased but I don't think so. But funds do need to be much more focused and add a lot more value. So there will be fewer funds. To your point about only 1 out of 400 founders reaching 10m revenue and the success of their innovation being stifled by the VC model. The majority of founders and businesses are not a fit for VC, but the lack of awareness of other options drives them to chase VC funding anyway. Other better options need to be more widely available and known to support your 399 out of 400 founders. Their innovation is the tide that raises all boats in the global economy " 🌿

Hold on a sec folks, are you an entrepreneur looking to knock a VC's door with your fab business idea? 🛑 HOLD UP! Before you dive into that route, here's a bitter pill to swallow - only a tiny teeny 1% score that perfect goal in the VC game. ⚽️ Does your startup have the guts to dish out 30X or, even better, 100X returns in 7-10 years? Not sure? Then, it's time for reflection. 😯 Loads of founders are up all night, on the grind, chasing this dream, only to end up gutted. We need to understand the game we are playing ... way before we commit, right? Consider this your nudge. 😉 Top-notch graphic thanks to Stéphane Nasser! So, what's your 2 cents on VC money? I'll say it before, and I'll say it again... VCs are searching for startups that have the potential to redefine their markets. It’s not about adhering to a specific ARR figure by year 5; it's the growth trajectory that truly matters. But In my dialogues with founders, the vision they have for their ARR by year 5 is incredibly telling. Frequently, I find their projections don't fully capture the scale that venture capital is striving for. VCs are drawn to startups that showcase more than just growth—they're looking for market shapers and leaders. The ambition is to invest in companies with the foresight and capability to sustain high growth rates and expand their market presence aggressively. Founders, when charting your path to VC funding, think expansively. Your goal shouldn't just be to grow but to outpace, outmaneuver, and outperform your competition. Sustainable, scalable, and explosive growth—growth that propels you to a position of market dominance and sets you up for an impactful exit—is what captures a VC's interest. The game of venture investment is not just about hitting growth targets; it's about becoming a powerhouse in your field, the kind that rewrites the rules and commands the playing field. That's the essence of the VC sweet spot. #startupecosystem #fundraisingsuccess #venturecapital #vcfunding #vcinsights
