Basically a good QS should be able to ‘think outside the box’ and allow for items that are not shown on the drawings and or specifications and must have knowledge of Procurement routes, Conditions of Contract, specific project requirements, market conditions, Risks to make allowances accordingly be it in a Cost Estimate (Pre Contract), Variations / Claims (Construction phase/ Post Contract) Final Account (completion)
