Hi everyone, I'm Tom, I'm the Head Tefal coach here at Precision TEFL and today is a great day for us because we are able to share with you our brand new 120 hour TEFL course. But before I get stuck into the details and tell you all about the course, 1st I'm going to give you a bit of context and a bit of background information. I'm recording this here in Colombia, but as you might have guessed I'm from the UK and before I came over to work in South America. As a TEFL teacher, I was living and working in the music industry in London. However, during that experience, despite the fact that it was amazing, I always wanted to do something different with my life, meet different people and enjoy different weather. Thankfully, I discovered TEFL in 2017. I completed a TEFL course, received my certificate and then in 2018 came over to South America to work as a TEFL teacher and since then. I've worked with both private and public schools, private language institutes, and I've done a ton of private tutoring alongside working for one of the leading online language academies. Now, during my time in the Tefal world, I also taught myself Spanish using all of the different techniques and skills that I learned during my TEFL course, as well as things that I've picked up during my time in the classroom. And drawing on those two parallel experiences inspired me to create a. Apple course that includes all of the important teaching skills and theory that you need to teach someone a language, but also methods and approaches that we can use to really tap into the motivations, goals, personalities, and preferences of our students. Because teaching isn't painting by numbers. Instead, it's really important that we understand the people that we've got in front of us and find ways to select the most efficient and appropriate methods to help them. Achieve their goals. OK, so all of that sounds great, but you may still be wondering what exactly do I mean by the term Tefal? Well, Tefal stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and with a TEFL certificate, you can find teaching jobs all around the world. That's right, if you want to travel through South America, explore Southeast Asia, or spend some time in Europe, with a TEFL certificate, you can find teaching jobs working with professionals, children, teenagers, adults. Whole range of different opportunities and the same goes for online teaching. Online teaching is absolutely booming at the moment. So if you want a new full time job where you work online and choose your own hours, or if you're studying for a masters and you just need a bit of extra income, or you want to be a digital nomad and travel the world with your laptop, a TEFL certificate opens the doors to all of these different options. And finally, if you're keen on the idea of teaching but you don't really want to. Travel or spend anymore time on your computer. While the good news is that in countries like the US, the UK, Canada and Australia, there are lots of different opportunities for TEFL teachers working in community centers, language centers, and during the summer at summer camp. So we've just one TEFL certificate. You will have access to a whole range of different options and opportunities. OK, so the final thing that's left to do is tell you about the course itself.
