Enough Is Enough: Standing Together this International Women's Day As we observe International Women's Day, let's reflect on a theme that resonates deeply in today's world: Enough is Enough. It's a call to action, a united front against the inequalities and challenges that women face in workplaces, societies, and homes across the globe. The journey towards gender equality has been long and fraught with obstacles. Yet, despite significant progress, women continue to encounter systemic barriers, unequal pay, limited opportunities, and the stark reality of gender-based violence. These challenges are not just women's issues; they are societal issues that demand immediate and concerted action from all of us. This International Women's Day, let's pledge to do more than just acknowledge these issues. Let's commit to being part of the solution. Whether it's advocating for equal opportunities, supporting women-led initiatives, or simply lending an ear to the voices that need to be heard, every action counts. Enough is enough. As we mark International Women's Day, its pretty great to be able to share some remarkable strides in gender equality, particularly in boardrooms across the UK's top companies where I read recently that women now hold 42% of board seats! It's undoubtedly a sign of progress, but for me it also serves as a poignant reminder of the journey that lies ahead. You might wonder at this point, why post about it? Isn't there a risk of it being perceived as singing to the same tune as everyone else on this marked day? Let me share why I believe posting on International Women's Day goes beyond mere advocacy and how it contributes to a larger narrative. Sharing on this occasion goes far beyond following a crowd; it needs to be about creating a catalyst for meaningful dialogues, heightened awareness, and a commitment to collective action for continued change. Each post carries the potential not only to inspire but also to educate and motivate individuals to take strides forwards that align with their beliefs, and contributing to positive change. It's not about being a woman; it's about being the right person for the task at hand, fostering a spirit of inclusivity and impact. Whilst we might celebrate the strides made on this marked day, it's essential to recognise the persistent obstacles that still demand attention. Recent articles shed light on the experiences of women in the tech sector, where we've witnessed a commendable leap forward, with the gender gap in tech jobs narrowing across the UK and EU. This progress is fuelled by factors such as flexible work arrangements and a rising demand for IT roles, facilitating a more inclusive work environment, particularly for working mothers. However, the call for greater diversity remains crucial, especially within the world of AI. In the realm of leadership, women often ascend to prominent roles during challenging periods, navigating at times real complexity in certain situations. While success stories demonstrate resilience, they also underscore the importance of providing support and opportunities for women to not only survive but thrive in such environments. International Women's Day on March 8 is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.    #IWD has occurred for well over a century, and in 2024 it is still a reminder that worldwide, women are not yet included in all fields of endeavour. According to the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report 2023, it will take another 131 years to reach gender parity.   This year’s campaign theme is #InspireInclusion. Everyone everywhere can inspire inclusion. There are many ways to ensure the needs, interests and aspirations of women and girls are valued and included. To truly include women means to also openly embrace their diversity of race, age, ability, faith, body image, and how they identify.   When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. By working together to break down barriers and foster diversity, we can build a more equitable and inclusive society for generations to come.   #IWD2024 #SAPBWN

Proud to be part of an organization that empowers gender equity! As we celebrate International Women's Day 2024, the official theme of the UN is "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress." This is a call to action to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by 2023. The world economic forum published a report in 2023, Global Gender Gap Report, which highlights some alarming facts. Women account for 41.9% of the workforce in 2023, but hold only 26.7% of tech-related jobs, and only 32.2% of the share of senior leadership positions, with only 25% at C-level. This means that we are not representative in the society we live. Gender parity is a central goal, and companies in the top quartile for gender diversity are more likely to outperform competitors. Inclusive organizations are 6x more likely to be agile and innovative and 8x more likely to achieve better business outcomes. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the fact that the global economy is losing at least $7Trillion of economic gains due to the lack of gender parity in the workforce. In the long run, the GDP per capita would be 20% higher if all gender employment gaps were to be closed. 2024 IWD theme is #InspireInclusion, and we must work together to ensure that all voices are heard and represented. Let's continue to strive towards gender equality, empower women and girls, and build healthier, more prosperous, and inclusive communities.

BREAKING 'GLASS' CEILINGS, FACING 'CONCRETE' BARRIERS! 🌍 A very happy International Women's Day to all the women across the globe! Each year, on Women's Day, we embrace important themes such as #EmbraceEquity, #InspireInclusion, #genderequality, #WomenInLeadership, and more. It's inspiring to see how International Women's Day has caught the attention of corporations worldwide, prompting actions to advance women in the professional sphere and sparking global conversations about gender equality. However, amidst our celebrations and campaigns, I believe true equality for women begins at home. Despite our strides towards breaking "glass ceilings" in the corporate world, many women still face "concrete ceilings" in their personal lives. Stereotypes and traditional roles continue to challenge the majority of women, affecting the division of responsibilities, participation in decision-making, and financial freedom, among other aspects. Achieving equality is undoubtedly challenging, as stereotypes deeply entrenched in society continue to affect many. Although the educated and urban population is slowly but increasingly embracing gender equality, thanks to awareness campaigns and real-world examples, a significant portion of the population, both in India and globally, remains untouched by these efforts, living lives marked by disparity and lack of equal opportunities. As we celebrate the achievements and progress of women around the world, I wonder: What does it take to extend the influence of these campaigns into homes? For those thinking gender inequality isn't that prominent, the stats don't lie! Underrepresented or marginalised groups face disadvantages that those with privilege may not be aware of or have even considered. The existence of privilege is clear for those who don’t have it, and often invisible to those who do. It’s important to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable and educate ourselves.
