🎒📚 Back-to-School Tips for Neurodiverse Students! 🌟 As we gear up for a new school year, here are some helpful strategies to support our neurodiverse learners: 1. Establish Routines: Create consistent morning and evening routines to ease transitions. Predictability is key! ⏰ 2. Visual Schedules: Use visual aids to outline daily activities, including class times and breaks. This helps everyone know what to expect! 📅✨ 3. Sensory Considerations: Discuss potential sensory triggers (like noise or crowds) and coping strategies—think noise-canceling headphones or fidget tools! 🎧💫 4. Meet with Teachers: Schedule meetings with teachers and support staff to discuss your child's needs and strengths. Communication is vital! 🗣️❤️ 5. Self-Advocacy Skills: Empower your child to communicate their needs effectively. Practice using scripts or role-playing how to ask for help! 💪📝 6. Positive Reinforcement: Celebrate small victories and efforts throughout the back-to-school process. Boost that confidence! 🎉🙌 Let's make this school year a positive experience for all! 💙✨ #BackToSchool #Neurodiversity #SupportOurStudents #AutismAwareness #EducationMatters #PositiveReinforcement #VisualSupports #StrivePediatricTherapy #ABAtherapy #SocialSkills #LawrenceNJ #MedicaidNJ #NJABA #CentralNJABA #CentralNJ #ChildDevelopment #BCBA #AppliedBehaviorAnalysis #ASD #CompassionateABA #ABAclinic #ABAtherapist

My first heart break Medschool would humble you😂. Level 200 begun with high hopes and finally, I had a feel of Korle Bu campus. I got to interact with my seniors and lecturers as well…a priceless moment for an aspiring Doctor🤭. Fast forward to our first steeplechase exam🥲, hmm. For the first time in my life I scored 52, or so. I was so heartbroken but then looking at the general scores, I kept my cool. I spoke to a few seniors who gave me some helpful advice for my next exam. Next academic year started with Neuroscience and in just 3 days we had done anatomy of the pons, medulla etc and moving to the ascending and descending tracts. Ha! It happened too fast that I was completely lost. The annoying thing was that you needed to understand one for the other to make sense. I cried small🙈 and then followed Dr. Ahenkorah to his office. He explained things to me, asked me to draw the structures and… tadaaa! it began making sense. Many of such moments have happened throughout my medical school journey and these constant reminders have kept me going till now: 📌 You do not have to suffer in silence 📌 Help is everywhere, you just have to ask. Shoutout to the likes of Dr. Ahenkorah and Richard M. Blay who always opened their doors to students, seniors who were ever ready to help out the poor MB2 student😂 and friends that keep us sane. Kindly share your own experience in the comment section☺️. #Day3 #Volunteering #Mentorship #Leadership #Givingbacktosociety #Healthcare #Womenshealth #Medicalstudent #consistencychallengewithdrlinkedin #healthspacelinkedintribe
