nice deeper dive by Erin and Cade at the NY Times on the complicated and rapid investment into Anthropic.AI by Google, Amazon, etc https://lnkd.in/e9TZ2PSE "All told, the A.I. start-up hauled in $7.3 billion in a year. Its five funding deals stood out not just for their speed and size, but for their unusual structures. In one of those deals, Anthropic agreed to use technology such as chips and cloud computing services from the companies that invested in it. That meant, in effect, that some of the money it raised would be pumped back into its investors." The business development aspect of corporate venturing alongside the regulatory and anti-trust issues in AI have been hot topics for the GCV Next Wave webinar series; catch up here: https://lnkd.in/e5B5gHYr and meet the main folks from Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Nvidia, AMD, Microsoft, etc at next month's #GCVISummit in Monterey www.GCVISummit.com
