What's a stage 2 company? Honestly, Christopher Perez and I never heard the term until we were recognized by Colorado Companies to Watch, whose mission it is to help overlooked Stage 2 companies succeed. Stage 2 companies are beyond the startup phase. We're somewhere between a small business and a medium business which is a no-man's land when it comes to financing and support. Our issues aren't about survival but growth. To be candid, as an entrepreneur, it still feels like a startup but I guess they have a point. We grew nearly 500% last year, and we're trying to figure out how to channel this momentum into sustainable expansion. While I'm used to dealing with large B2B companies with full teams, building a company from scratch requires a lot of resources that many of you may take for granted—things like proper HR, IT support, and bankers. This is why this program is so exciting to be a part of and to be named a finalist. It's giving stage 2 companies like us the support we need to continue to deliver more care to our community and our state, and in turn, we create even more jobs and improve the economy. We will find out in June whether we are selected as one of the 50 Colorado Companies to Watch out of over a thousand applicants. How can integrated care systems improve young people's mental health? Here's some insights members identified on what we'd need in order to build better, more equitable mental health services for children and young people. ⬇ 1️⃣ For youth voices to be really heard within systems, there needs to be a genuine power shift. 2️⃣ For systems and those who commission services to avoid putting young people into boxes. 3️⃣ For mental health support to change to offer all groups of young people the right help at the right time. 4️⃣ For young people to not be left waiting for mental health support for long periods without any help. 5️⃣ For systems to learn from one another.
