With Prime Big Deal Days announced this week, here are the key things I look at when recommending a discount to a brand: Inventory: This has two parts. • If you are running low on inventory for your top products, the last thing you want to do is risk going out of stock. So in this case, it might be best to sit out the sales days. • However, for low-performing products or ones you intend to stop selling, a large discount on deal days like this is the perfect way to get through inventory. 📦 Margins: This one is simple. If you care about your bottom line, then offering large discounts is an easy way to harm your gross profit. 💰 Ranking: When you have a new or low-performing product, the goal is to get traffic and conversions, right? Well, what better way to do that than offering a high discount on a high-traffic day?
