Today has been a frustrating day. I had interviews scheduled with two different companies, both arranged by recruiters. To my surprise, I was ghosted by both recruiters without any communication or updates. Being left in the dark is not only disappointing but reflects poorly on the recruiting profession as a whole. As a recruiter myself, I place a strong emphasis on this simple acronym when engaging with candidates during the hiring process, ensuring an exceptional candidate experience: C - Communication: Ensure clear and timely communication throughout the hiring process. A - Accountability: Take responsibility for actions and commitments made to candidates. R - Respect: Treat candidates with professionalism and empathy, while honoring their time. E - Engagement: Actively engage with candidates, providing a positive and supportive experience. Using the CARE acronym can help recruiters maintain a candidate-centric approach and enhance overall satisfaction during the recruitment process. Below is the interview process for a tech firm hiring Grads on £28k: -45 minute screening call -1 hour teams call -3 hour case study -3 hour in-person meet -1 hour written test -45 minute talent team call -1 hour personality test -2 hour in-person meet the team -CEO sign off call And if you get the job, you have a 6 month probation period. No wonder they're struggling to hire!
