Maximise cargo, minimise emissions! 🚢🌍✨ Recently, I've been diving into some fascinating insights on container optimisation and its impact on decarbonisation. While we often hear about fuel efficiency and hull design, enhancing cargo capacity is an equally crucial piece of the puzzle. According to experts at MacGregor, optimising cargo intake could slash the environmental footprint of container shipping by over 10%! 🌱🌊 Imagine needing 10 ships instead of 11 just by making existing spaces more efficient. ⚓📦 The concept is brilliant yet simple. MacGregor's Cargo Boost solution not only upgrades existing vessels but can also include retrofits like elevating lashing bridges and using ISO Gap Adapters for older ships. 🚢🔧 These enhancements allow ships to carry more cargo in a flexible and stable manner, reducing the need for ballasting and thus cutting fuel consumption. Plus, think of the reduction in emissions per TEU - it's a win-win for the environment and operational efficiency. 🌐💚 Let's not undervalue the potential here. Optimising cargo systems may not have been the traditional focus at shipyards, but it's clearly a substantial lever for change. 🚀 What do you think? How can we further innovate in this space? I'd love to hear your thoughts! 🗣️💡 #CargoOptimisation #SustainableShipping #InnovationInTransport #ONEDP 🛠️📈

Discover the future of the electrified construction site with our latest innovation: ‘Work-While-Charge’ for our #SANY eTruck. Now you can organise your construction projects even more efficiently. With ‘Work-While-Charge’, you can now also charge the batteries of the SANY #eTruck while using the power take-off. This means uninterrupted productivity, e.g. on the construction site, without having to compromise on range. While the body is working, the truck's batteries are charged and the range is even increased. Experience the future with ‘Work-While Charge’ towards a seamless integration of charging processes and workflows.

Did you know that tyre recycling could grow by 400%? 📈 A three-year project by Life Green Vulcan revealed the European tyre industry's potential to reprocess up to 400,000 tonnes of ELT granules annually, an increase of 100-400% on current recycling and reuse rates. LSM's V85 Tyre Baler is at the forefront of tapping into this potential. Designed to process 500 standard car or light commercial tyres per hour, our V85 Tyre Baler reduces tyre storage needs by 80% and lowers transport costs by up to 60%. Great to see technology advances that could support more reliable and sustainable critical rail infrastructure.
Dear All, Sharing herewith our UTS media coverage (now on UTS website) on our Transport Research Centre's R&D outcomes on railway shock absorbers using recycled rubber - Where the Rubber Meets the Rail. We are proud to have partnered with Ecoflex International and Bridgestone to develop and test a world's first system of shock absorbers for railway tracks made from recycled rubber tyres (patented). The rubber tyre cells and matting (including sheets and grids) sit underneath the ballast layer, damping excessive vibrations and noise, while softening the impact forces generated by wheel-rail imperfections. We have demonstrated that these novel applications can make train trips safer and quieter. They can also reduce maintenance costs, extend the longevity of tracks and contribute more to our environment in terms of reducing the need for quarried rock aggregates while ensuring a more favourable carbon footprint. Here’s the link (now on UTS website) with some photos representing the concepts and applications in real-life tracks:
