Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram believes that left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will regain the national team’s captaincy. Akram criticized the frequent leadership changes, stating that such instability hampers consistent performance. “If you made Afridi captain, you should have given him at least a year,” he remarked. Distancing himself from Pakistan cricket due to criticism and politics, Akram praised Afridi’s aggressive style and wicket-taking ability. “He’s an aggressive cricketer with a bright future,” Akram said. Expressing confidence that Afridi will become captain again, Akram advised him to focus on his game for now. #primesgadgets #pcb #pakistancricket #shaheenshahafridi #waseemakram

The last two matches played by the Pakistan Cricket Team show that despite having enormous talent, you need a strategy to win games. The only problem with the team in the last two matches has been tactical decision-making, improper utilization of resources and psychologically defeating the opponent. The fact that we are so tied up with the 90s approach, is destroying the PCT. There is no doubt that Babar Azam is the greatest batter this country has ever produced but it may also be acknowledged that he is the worst modern-day captain. Innovation, witty decision-making, and adapting to the situation amid crisis is the thing to learn for corporate, as well as sports leaders! #pakistan #strategy #cricket

I am very surprised that there is no shortage of cricketers in Pakistan. There are so many players that even if we form 10 teams, there will still be more players left. Among these players, there is a lot of good talent. However, I think Osman Khan's decision is foolish because he doesn't seem to understand some basic things. Firstly, if he started playing cricket in the UAE, he should be thankful for that opportunity. Secondly, if he now says he wants to establish his future in Pakistan, was he not thinking about his future before? I can confidently say that Osman Khan's career will suffer in two years because of his decision. This is because in the Pakistani cricket team, recommendations and connections matter. As long as you have recommendations and connections, you can easily play for the Pakistani cricket team. I am also surprised that after a little bit of fame, a cricketer is thinking about leaving one country and playing for another. If the United Arab Emirates has given him an opportunity, he should be dedicated to them for life. Osman Khan's decision is very foolish because if he hasn't gained understanding yet, it will be very difficult for him. Some people may not agree with me because I am speaking the truth. Until now, whose career has been set in Pakistan? Only the career of this individual has been set. If you are powerful, wealthy, and have good connections, then you have to make friendships with four types of people - police officers, doctors, lawyers, and even some troublemakers if you want to establish your future in Pakistan. I hope Allah shows mercy on our country. Furthermore, the coaches of our cricket team or the members of the selection committee, like zaka ashraf and others, who have never had any involvement in cricket or life, have become chairmen because of their good connections with influential people or corrupt individuals. If you want to establish your future in Pakistan, you have to make friends with four types of people - police officers, doctors, lawyers, and even some troublemakers. #pcb #pakistan #cricket #status #hr #career
Multan Sultans' standout batsman, Usman Khan, has officially served a notice to the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) requesting the termination of his contract. Having impressed with his exceptional performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 9), where he scored two centuries and a total of 430 runs, Usman Khan has garnered attention from selectors and earned a place in the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) list of players attending a fitness camp in Kakul. Following legal consultation with the PCB, Usman has expressed his desire to pursue his future in Pakistan cricket, leading him to initiate the process of terminating his central contract with the Emirates Cricket Board. #Pakistan #Cricket #Emirates #Contract #PCB

Among the lesser but nonetheless striking facts about the 270 runs that Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Riaz Hassan, Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Omarzai hit off South Africa's bowlers in the second men's ODI in Sharjah on Friday is that they did so without a bat sponsor between them. Naked, unblemished willow met steadily more lathered leather to score almost 90% of Afghanistan's total of 311/4. Gurbaz delivered an icily assured 110-ball 105, his strokes as crisp and curt as the creases on a schoolboy's trousers. It was his seventh ODI century, a record for Afghanistan and their first against South Africa. Omarzai's more meaty unbeaten 86 off 50, with nearly two-thirds of his runs claimed in fours and sixes, stole more than its share of the spotlight. Of the Afghans who took guard, only Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan sported stickers on their bats. What might this mean? That because Nabi has missed only 20 of Afghanistan's 315 internationals across the formats he is enough of a name to snare a sponsor? That because Shakib is a bona fide star of the modern age who has featured in the most glittering T20 franchise leagues - and a few of the others - he is entitled to the same? Maybe that companies who try to blow their trumpets with cricketers' help don't yet fully trust a team who represent a country where the government hates everything and anything that might make people smile, particularly if those people are women and girls? Surely, but it also tells us there is exponentially more to this team than Nabi and Shakib. And that they have the confidence to live with that reality, and even promote it. Unlike, for instance, Bangladesh, who seem sadly caught in Shakib-al-Hasan's headlights. #facebook #Cast #Webstory

It's 9:30AM in Saint Kitts. It's 8:30AM in New York. But most importantly, it's 7:30PM in Dhaka. The 2nd ODI between the West Indies and Bangladesh begins at the Tip of Primetime Television to assuage the Bangladeshi and Subcontinent Audience. The tradeoff, a 9:30AM Start Time, an Empty Stadium, and No Possibility for Growth either Local or International. It's important to remember that the Growth Generated from a 9:30AM Local Start Time is Interim. It's Short-Term. It's not Durable. Finally, I sometimes wonder about West Indies Cricket. Who is their Target Market? It's not Local. It's not the Diaspora. It's not the United States. It's not the UK. It's not the Subcontinent. #Cricket International Cricket Council Cricket West Indies (CWI) Bangladesh Cricket Board Twenty First Group

FROM LOCAL TO GLOBAL: Strengthening Pakistani Cricket through Professionalism, Competency, and Merit [The decline of Pakistani cricket is a multifaceted issue that requires a holistic approach to address. By focusing on professionalism, competency, and merit, Pakistan can rebuild its cricketing infrastructure and restore its reputation on the global stage…..] Today, a pressing concern for Pakistanis is the consistent decline of the Pakistani cricket team's reputation on the global stage. There was a time in the 1980s and 1990s when the Pakistani team was considered one of the top teams internationally in Test, One-Day, and even T20 formats. This golden era saw Pakistan produce legendary cricketers who inspired millions and brought glory to the nation. However, the current scenario is markedly different, prompting an urgent need for introspection and reform. The Impact of Terrorism on Pakistani Cricket Undoubtedly, Pakistan’s cricket has been significantly impacted by https://lnkd.in/gdnYaR92

Over and Over Again, Cricket Captains prove that empowering their office is a misguided endeavor. Khurram Shehzad is a New Ball Bowler who dislodged 4 of Bangladesh’s Top Six. Bangladesh was then revived by Litton Das. Approaching the 80th Over, the Pakistan Captain had orchestrated a Defensive Field which indicated that he was biding time and had quit on the idea of taking wickets with the Old Ball even against Tailenders. During this period where the Pakistan Captain’s tactic for taking a wicket was divine intervention, he bowled the already knackered Shehzad for a 4 Over Spell which would eliminate him as a useful New Ball Option. I didn’t even mention the Poor Over Allocation. It would be easy to pin these illogical on Bad Captaincy and a Poor System. While those two elements are factors, one can’t ignore Poor Coaching. Jason Gillespie wasn’t brought in to revolutionize Pakistan Cricket because that can only happen after Governance Reform. He was though brought in to add logic and better processes around decision-making. This also speaks to the Mechanics of Cricket Coaching where a Cricket Coach is Unwilling or Unable to make adjustments in Real-Time. As a Result, a Cricket Captain leads his team down a dark alley towards underperformance and inefficiency. #Cricket #Coaching Sportsology Group Twenty First Group

Have always felt, Cricket isn't just a game; it's a reflection of the spirit that drives a nation forward. As an Indian #cricket analyst, I've been struck by how Pakistan's struggles on the cricket field seem to mirror challenges within the nation itself. Once a powerhouse with legends like Wasim Akram, Imran Khan and many inspiring awe, Pakistan's cricket now faces significant hurdles: ⚡ Ranking Decline: Dropping in ICC standings across formats. 🎭 Performance Slump: ODI win-loss ratio falling below 1.0, a sharp contrast to past successes. These issues seem intertwined with the country's broader state of affairs. Economic pressures, political shifts, and social challenges might be casting long shadows over the cricket grounds. It's as if the pitch has become a microcosm of national dynamics. A strong Pakistan cricket team enriches the sport for everyone. Revitalizing cricket could not only uplift the team's fortunes but also inspire a sense of optimism nationwide. And a upturn of the country is probably required to get it's famous team back! Because when a nation rallies, its team can achieve greatness once more. #CricketAnalysis #PakistanCricket #sports #UnityThroughSport #HopeInAdversity
