As a social worker, my focus has always been on making a difference in the lives of children, especially those who face challenges and need support to thrive. My work involves creating safe environments where children can express themselves freely. I help connect families to essential services like education, healthcare, and counseling, ensuring every child has a chance to grow up healthy and secure. Whether it’s advocating for their rights, or addressing issues like trauma and neglect, my goal is to bring hope and opportunities to their lives. Every child deserves a bright future, and social workers are often the bridge to that better tomorrow. It’s fulfilling to be part of their journey toward stability, growth, and happiness. How can we work together to improve the lives of vulnerable children in our communities? #SocialWork #SupportingChildren #Advocacy #MakingADifference #ChildWelfare

When I experienced my own bout of long-term unemployment during the economic downturn of 2008/9, like many of you, I never expected to be out of work for so long and face downward mobility for the first time. This experience led me to advocate for older adults in similar situations. But advocacy is only the first step; action is crucial. NUUage is a manifestation of this action step. It’s mission is to offer cost-effective coliving housing with shared amenities and tailored services to assist older adults aging independently on moderate incomes. #Advocacy #RetirementCrisis #NUUageColiving #SharedHousing #CommunityLiving #Affordablehousing #seniors #Coliving

📣NYC Advocacy Opportunity📣 Today, NY1 is reporting that the Mayor and City Council are still far off from a budget deal with only two weeks to go until the deadline. Though a bit troubling, this news means there is still time to make a difference in the budget through CCC's four campaigns. Help us urge the Mayor and City Council to put families and children first in the budget by: investing in needed food and housing supports amid ongoing affordability crises; rejecting and reversing budget cuts to child care programs; and investing in critical behavioral health services. Take two minutes to take action here: https://bit.ly/cccaction #advocacy #childcare #housing #foodsecurity #AntiHunger #MentalHealth #behavioralhealth

Teach your child to tell you or another trusted adult if someone asks them to keep a secret. Explain to them the difference between a secret and a surprise: A surprise makes someone happy and we plan on telling people about it. Help your child understand that telling you about secrets is not tattling or snitching, and can help you keep them safe. April is #ChildAbuseAwarenessMonth. How does CASA help children? There are many ways... 💙 National CASA reports that children with a CASA volunteer are more likely to receive therapy, health care and education, more likely to do better in school, less likely to be bounced from one place to another, and half as likely to re-enter the foster care system. Most importantly, children themselves report that they know and can rely on their CASA volunteer. 💙 Interested in getting involved?
