Today I'm reminded of the value that Global Supply Chains bring to the world economy. Simply put, if planes, boats and trucks don't move - nothing happens. Paula Degel and I came to do some shopping at an outlet where we live here in Puerto Rico. Although Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, it's still an island in the Caribbean that depends heavily on a functional global supply chain. With the recent network outages that effect airlines and movement, many of the shipments to PR have been delayed. Although technology has allowed for instant communication between individuals, for physical products, efficient supply chains are more critical than ever. #supplychainmanagement #procurement #maritime

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Victorian Freight Plan Industry Summit, where leaders from the ports, freight, and logistics industries joined forces with government representatives to contribute to the updating of the Victorian Freight Plan. As a member of the select Industry Stakeholder Reference Group, I was honoured to participate in a panel session and took the opportunity to share some of the challenges and opportunities in front of the international logistics sector. Many thanks to chair Praveen Reddy and fellow panellists Georgia Nicholls, Peter Anderson, Brendan Tatham, and Andrew Newman. This summit is a crucial step in shaping the future of our freight system, ensuring it supports the liveability and prosperity of all Victorians. The updated Victorian Freight Plan will address evolving global and national factors such as major supply chain disruptions, zero emission targets, financial models for system improvements, and technological advancements. To make this plan robust and effective, your insights are invaluable and we are seeking feedback to help shape the updated Plan. Your input will help test and refine the plan’s objectives, actions, and key performance indicators. A discussion paper posing key questions has been developed to guide industry input. - Link in comments - I invite you to share your thoughts directly with me or visit Engage Victoria to view the paper and provide your feedback. Together, we can build a sustainable and efficient freight system for the future. 🚛🌏 #VictorianFreightPlan #IndustrySummit #Logistics #Sustainability #FreightIndustry #Government #StakeholderEngagement #SupplyChain
