Top reasons for MIT delta v startups closing are areas founders can control. Control the controllable. Sign up for Startup (Re)Design: The Masterclass. MIT delta v is the capstone entrepreneurship experience for MIT students. The mission is to produce the next generation of innovation-driven entrepreneurs. A 10-year retrospective (2012-2021) of the MIT delta v accelerator program was published this year. Across all cohorts, 61% of delta v companies are still in operation or have been acquired. For those companies that closed, the top reason for closing was not having the right team (32%), followed by not finding a market need (17%), a flawed business model (14%), and burnout (11%). Founders can define market need and redesign the business model. These are areas you can control. Startup (Re)Design: The Masterclass is created exclusively for women entrepreneurs who have an idea for, or are currently working on, an innovation-driven startup.
