Tick sightings are soaring in Ontario this year, raising concerns about Lyme disease! 👉 Over 1,100 blacklegged ticks, the main carrier of Lyme disease, spotted in Ontario so far. 👉 Cases of Lyme disease are also on the rise. 👉 Experts blame climate change for the increase in ticks. Protect yourself: 👉 Do regular tick checks after spending time outdoors. 👉 Wear long clothing and tuck pants into socks. 👉 Use insect repellent. 👉 Remove ticks promptly with tweezers. Know the symptoms of Lyme disease: 👉 Bullseye rash (not always present) 👉 Fever, chills, fatigue 👉 Muscle and joint pain 👉 Headaches, memory problems Early diagnosis is key!
