This week is reunion week! Yoseph, the warm and sweet older brother in the middle of his 2 teenage sisters, is coming home today. He went on a self planned, perfectly executed trip to the Scandanavian countries, the Balkan countries and some other random former Soviet satellite countries. His mission: to see parts of the world he’d never seen before. He left right after Passover and is coming home right before Shavuot. We can’t wait to hear all about it. As expected, I don’t think I got more than 1 picture throughout the trip Rosie comes home later in the week and the house is full-ish once again. I never thought I’d get here. A time when everyone not only grew up but relished their independence and embraced it completely. They like to know that I’m always here for them with warm food and a tight hug. Then after they refuel with their mother’s love, they go back out into the big world. I’m like Penn Station: I have a permanent resident (or occasionally 2) and everyone else passes through. I’m proud and pleased to be right where I am. This gives me more time to focus on the Aim Hire, Employment with Dignity mission! This past week brought an unprecedented intensity from that front. New candidates who are challenging in new ways. I’ve been networking, information gathering, wisdom seeking from anyone and everyone who can help this mission succeed. There are so many resources out there, and people who want to help, that we need to tap into. There are many people to bring onboard this mission of helping people over age 40 find lucrative long term employment. Did you know, there’s an International Recruiters Day? & a National Pet Day! …🤯 … and they’re both TODAY! 🙌 So when I (try) and limit myself to just one Social Media post a day, how do I choose which to celebrate? 🤔 Now many of you are familiar with my journey in Recruitment, so I’ll spare you a recount of that little nugget 🤣. Instead, I’ll a share a smattering of the more unusual stories, from 15 years in the industry (those which are suitable for the public domain at least😳), PLUS a photo of my pets! And so, in the infamous tradition of Friends, I remember “The one when…” ⭐A candidate left mid-shift claiming that someone had 💩in their sandwich!🤮 (unsubstantiated – I went looking). ⭐I was obliged to terminate someone’s employment due to their (litigious) stalking tendencies towards another (married) colleague. ⭐A team were selected to hand-deliver manufactured parts to a client in Sweden, only to miss the flight and receive a speeding ticket for their efforts. ⭐A candidate gave me an extensive account of their experience at an Assessment Centre, only to determine they’d NEVER attended as scheduled.
