I came across Kingsley Orji tutorial on YouTube and I've always loved his prototype animation. I took on the challenge of recreating the design and animation. While watching the tutorial I was able to learn that with auto layout, designing becomes easy and smooth but at the same time can be tricky if careful. 🤣 I love that I worked on this challenge and got it right. I'll continue learning and looking out for the next challenging prototype animation 😂 I would your feedback on the design. #figma #prototype #productdesign #uxuidesign

👀We come alive in the eyes 👀 One important thing to remember when animating is that we often refocus or switch which eye we look at while talking to people. By putting effort into animating the movement of the pupils with intention, it will make your character feel more alive, like they are thinking and receiving information and in turn, your animation will be more believable. The eyes are also the biggest area for BREAKING believability. If you have stray keyframes where the eyes slide from one side to the other, float away, or look in 50 different directions, it will look like a 3D character in a screen, rather than a little human that's somehow got trapped in an epic adventure... Nail the eyes, and you'll have a better shot at creating more believable animation :)

I'm happy to share my first 3D Character Animation! 🎉 All the animation was done in Maya, from animating the character to the camera movements. This is just a playblast render from the viewport, with textures disabled, and interestingly, with the correct lighting, the animation started to feel like clay motion. So it's not the final look. After the performance was animated, it was all about setting up shots and directing the animation. All the editing and sound design were done in Premiere Pro. A big thank you to Richard Cunningham for his comprehensive curriculum on 3D Character Animation. You can read the production blog of this project in my articles tab. I'm proud of my students that they can work together on this animation within 5 weeks from zero to hero. I divide my class at FPT University into 5 groups and develop 5 part of a whole movie. Here is one of the best clip This is the final project for the 3D Character Animation course. This course equip students knowledege and practice of animating a 3D Character. However, I never want anyone to set simple target. So I push them to not only animating of a character but make a final movie. So within 10 weeks (20 sessions or 45 hours), students spent 3 weeks for getting to know 3D animation, the next 5 weeks to learn about Layout, Camera, Blocking, 1 week for lighting and 1 week for final composition. Still have lots of thing to do. However, the best achievement for a student is to experience working for a whole and later aware how should they tighten and go more for each part. #FPTUniversityHCM, #3DAnimation, #UnrealEngine, #Maya2024
