We know that we will only be successful in the future if we take an even closer look at the impact of our business model on the environment and society - and vice versa. At the same time, we are mindful of our commitment not to do business at the expense of future generations. Today we have published our second - still voluntary - report on environmental, social and governance issues. The growing focus on sustainability, which has increasingly affected all industries in recent years, is also changing the consumer behavior of coffee drinkers. For many roasters this means rethinking processes and taking bold steps. In our second sustainability report, we explain how we are helping coffee processors around the world to organize their production in a sustainable and resource-conserving way with the help of pioneering environmental technologies and intelligent sensor systems - for an industry that takes responsibility and sets new standards. My 3rd year as a RELEX sustainability champion is about to start, and I got to say I could not be more proud of this mindset of ours: "We wholeheartedly support the United Nations Sustainable Development Target, which aims to “halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses.” by 2030." 💕 Even though our own operational emissions are important to measure and reduce, significantly bigger impact lies within our product: our AI-powered product reduced food waste by 950,000 tCO2e emissions last year. All this by reducing food waste in our customers' supply chains. 🍃 If you want to learn how we do it or how much impact we've made so far on sustainability on a systemic level, check out our newest Sustainability Report 2024! https://lnkd.in/dYpicZwE #sustainability #retail
