Probus had an incredible experience at Electronica 2024, where our agnostic communication technologies for smart meter gained attention. The live demonstration of our patented dual communication technology - Cellular+Bluetooth NICs and RF NICs on different make and model of meter helped to showcase how in the challenging demographics of India, smart meter can be successfully executed. In addition, our Chief Business Officer, Anil Daulani, participated in an insightful panel discussion at the eFuture Conference on the theme: "Made in India: Pioneering Smart Connectivity Solutions." He highlighted the increasing importance of Cellular+Bluetooth use cases, addressing current challenges in cellular-only communication for smart meters. Key points included are: ⚡ 100% reconnection for resolving consumer issues 📲 syncing meter balances via mobile apps 🚶♂️ the "walk-by" feature to read meters during cellular downtime ⭐ star mesh connectivity through intelligent Bluetooth controllers Probus’ technology stands out with its differentiated tech, featuring an 8KB lean metering stack and multi-feature implementation within a Bluetooth chip. This innovative technology helped Probus in successfully securing contracts for over 4 million units of this innovative solution. During the Q&A session, Anil discussed the broader impacts of this technology, focusing on consumer empowerment, utility benefits, and the Government of India’s mandate to deploy smart meters under the RDSS program.
