Their products are sold via their website and platforms like Myntra, Meesho, Amazon, and Flipkart. Managing operations locally with Easy-E-Com, they relied on exporting reports and analyzing them in Excel. As their business grew, this process became inefficient and unsustainable. The Challenge: The company needed a scalable, efficient, and transparent solution to manage increasing data complexity and ensure smooth daily operations. The Solution: We migrated their data flow to Google Cloud, bringing faster processing and cost efficiency. Here’s how we streamlined their operations: (i) Cloud Migration: Data was moved to Google Cloud Storage, eliminating local infrastructure limitations. (ii) Secure Integration: Dedicated connections to platforms were built, with credentials stored securely in Google Secret Manager. (iii) Data Transformation: Using Google BigQuery, we automated data processing to ensure accuracy and scalability. (iv)Insights Delivery: Finalized data was exported as Excel files and visualized on interactive dashboards in Google Looker Studio. (v)Automation: The entire workflow was scheduled to run at set frequencies, reducing manual intervention. A new report from Coresight Research calls out that siloed data is hampering retailers efforts to deploy new AI capabilities. As I describe in Bionic Retail, Amazon has built a digital operating and business model on a foundation of unified data. That structure makes it far easier to rapidly develop and deploy new capabilities. Indeed, Amazon has built a massive company around a digital core. Walmart is pushing hard in a similar direction, seeking to unify data to take advantage of new AI capabilities. The majority of traditional retailers though continue to be hamstrung by siloed data and point-to-point integrations between systems. The result is a giant hairball that actually becomes less efficient as the retailer grows. In a world of continuously accelerating technology, the longer traditional retailers take to address their disparate data issues, the more the leaders will outpace them. And as we race up and out the exponential growth curve of technology, leaders are opening up a growing performance gap versus their slower competitors.
