This privatization initiative is one of the pillars of the Vision 2030 for the water sector aiming at reforming and modernizing the water distribution in the Kingdom. The first part of the LTOM program has included treatment plants in 8 packages for 4.2 million cubic meters a day, for a total amount of 2.5 billion US$, with awards to Saudi, French and Spanish companies. This second step comprises 116 treatment plants in 10 packages for around 2.4 million cubic meters a day. The aim of the Expression of Interest is open even more the bids to a more diversified spectrum of water leaders now that the first step has been positively concluded confirming the market interest. Responses to the Expression of Interest are expected by 6th June 2024. The Expression of Interest document can be found at the following link: https://lnkd.in/dq9juKXH For this privatization process, NWC is advised by a consortium of EGIS and COGITE as technical and lead adviser, Synergy as financial adviser, and Addleshaw Goddard as legal advisor. #ppp #water #gws24 #gwi #privatization #utilities #wastewater #saudi #suez #veolia #saur #acciona #aqualia #idrica #alkhorayef #cwc #miahona #metito #sws #abengoa #acea #adp #mowah #wabag

Updateing about COOP in Kent In the last few weeks My team and I just starteing work in new environmetal aspect which is oil and gas industry. Oil and gas are one of the huge feild in Saudi Arabia, as known in environmental concept oil and gas they hardly get matching but as environmental engineers we try to combine thema as much as possible . Waste minimizetion assessment (WMA) our new work which is focusing on reducing the amount of the generated waste on oil and gas facilities. Before Preforming WMA we worked on Waste Prioritization Report (WPR) which is a necessary report in WMA . WPR is a document that assesses and ranks different types of waste based on their environmental impact. WMA is a report that set the waste stream , source, current technology that used and the potential remediation to reduce the waste . In summary oil and gas is a difficult and sensitive field, the difficulty lies in understanding the processes and operations and making the field environmentally friendly. Our aim to get the environment better.

The Saudi Water Partnership Company expects to tender around SAR30 billion ($7.9 billion) in water projects over the next year | GWI’s Ed Cullinane maps the future of the Kingdom’s PPP pipeline. 💧 Building on the Kingdom's National Water Strategy 2030 and the country’s Ministry of Environment Water and Agriculture’s latest long-term forecast, the Saudi Water Partnership Company الشركة السعودية لشراكات المياه (SWPC)'s 2024-2030 statement offers a clear overhead view on the entire PPP pipeline that potential investors and contractors can anticipate in the market. The pipeline is broken down into five major areas: 1️⃣ Desalination plants 2️⃣ Sewage treatment plants 3️⃣ Strategic reservoirs 4️⃣ Transmission lines 5️⃣ Dams In each, the SWPC has outlined a number of proposed projects. Under its current plans, by 2030 the SWPC aims to increase desalinated water production capacity from 4.16 million m3/d to about 7.37 million m3/d, and to reach a wastewater network coverage of 95% by 2030. HELIOVIS at the Middle East Produced Water Management Conference 2024 🌍 On September 23-24, HELIOVIS had the pleasure of participating in the Middle East Produced Water Management Conference in Dubai. The event was insightful and rich in content, highlighting the growing importance of managing produced water—a significant byproduct in the oil and gas industry with annual production in the MENA region alone exceeding 45 bn(!) barrels in 2023. As the name suggests, produced water is the highly saline, often toxic water that is extracted alongside oil. It contains residual oil, chemicals, and heavy metals, and its corrosive nature significantly affects oilfield infrastructure. With the growing volumes of produced water, especially from aging oilfields, the need for sustainable management solutions has never been more critical. This issue takes on even greater urgency in the Middle East, where water scarcity is a persistent concern, and the Arabian Gulf already has a salt concentration one-third higher than average seawater. This rising salinity impacts the performance of existing desalination plants, creating further pressure on regional freshwater supplies. At the conference, leading organizations shared their expertise through presentations, including SLB, OMV Petrom, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC), ACCIONA, Trevi Systems, Al Shirawi, Clear Water Solutions, Kuwait Oil Company, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD). The critical nature of produced water management is clear to all, and it was highly encouraging to see various approaches being explored. Together with our partners from TreviSystems, HELIOVIS is currently commissioning a commercial plant for the emission-free treatment of produced water on an oilfield in Oman. With this pioneering installation, we are at the forefront of technical innovation and hope to contribute to the pressing regional freshwater issue by offering a commercially attractive and environmentally friendly solution for the management of produced water. A big thank you to the event organizers and all the brilliant minds that shared their insights. 💧 #ProducedWater #WaterManagement #MiddleEast #HELIOVIS #OilAndGas #WaterReuse #Sustainability #WaterScarcity #EnergyTransition #Innovation

There are monographs about environmental technology in the oil industry available in the literature (Orszulik, 2008), and cumulative data regarding disposed chemicals have been compiled (Environmental Report, 2008; Hudgins, 1994). Waste disposal presents problems thatare location-specific. For example, in Kuwait the problem of hydrocarbon wastemanagement is complex because the country experienced a uniqueenvironmental catastrophe as a result ofthe 1991 Gulf War (Uddin et al., 2009). #Globechem #oilandgas #chemical #chemicalindustry #oilandgasindustry #waterfiltration #watermanagement #gashydratecontrol #wax #depostion #lubricants #oil #gas

I attended the EIA review of the proposed 24" x15Km natural gas transmission pipeline project at de Rembrandt hotel. it was indeed a great time with colleagues. The project proponent was able to analyse the negative and positive impact of the project and also set mitigation measures in reducing the potential impact. Comments were made on the ESIA report presented and the proponent was able to answer few of them. This project will be an economical one ,not only for the people around, but also for our dear Nation. #EIA #EnvironmentalImpactAssessment #HSE

MENA’s role in global desalination At 53%, the Middle East held the largest share of the world's global desalination capacity in 2022. Given the region's arid climate and limited freshwater resources, this technology is essential for addressing water scarcity. Desalination plays a critical role in meeting the water demands of MENA countries, with nations like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar relying heavily on it for drinking water, agriculture, and industry. SWCC_KSA Saudi Arabia's Saline Water Conversion Corporation, the world's largest desalinated water producer, operates numerous plants throughout the kingdom. To illustrate the impact, desalination plants in Saudi Arabia's urban areas consumed a staggering two billion cubic meters of water in 2021, exceeding any other source and highlighting their importance for residential, commercial, and public utility needs. #waterdesalination #renewableenergy #environment #watertreatment #SGP #RED #reverseelectrodialysis
