#FunFriday! 🎉 I am so excited to have come all this way through the Pivot to Product Management Course at ProductDive. One fun thing I’ve learned and will always hold on to is that product management is all about building user-centric products. To do this effectively, I must deeply understand the user’s needs. Here's where it gets interesting: during user research, my goal is to uncover what my user needs. However, even more important than the "what" is the "why." 🚀 Exciting Insights from Product Circle! 🚀 I recently attended a Product Circle event hosted by Fatima-Zahra HAMIL and it was an incredibly enriching experience! We tackled real-world issues brought by the participants and brainstormed actionable solutions, here are some examples: 1. Balancing Multiple Products: A team was struggling to develop five products, only managing to advance two due to a lack of estimation. The solution was : Dedicate a percentage of their capacity to each product, ensuring steady progress across all initiatives. 2. Engaging Leadership: A product designer faced challenges convincing the stakeholders of their ideas, leading to unnecessary reworks. The proposed solution was to involve the stakeholders in client interviews, using data to highlight issues with the current design. This creates alignment and fosters understanding. 3. Communication in Change: A major organizational shift occurred without proper communication, leaving the team feeling demotivated. We suggested using an Ishikawa diagram to identify potential risks and clearly communicate them to leadership, promoting transparency and support. It was inspiring to see so many passionate professionals come together to share challenges and solutions. Product Circle is a fantastic platform for growth and collaboration in the product community! Just finished attending ProductCon by Product School. One of the key takeaways was this insightful slide on monetization metrics, which breaks down the concepts of Growth, Retention, and Margins from Amplitude VP of Product Ibrahim Bashir. The way he broke down growth, retention, and margins provided a clear roadmap for how to think about product impact on revenue. As an aspiring PM, this is very useful for PM interviews, where execution questions often require a deep understanding of how product decisions drive business outcomes. By focusing on key metrics like Active Users, Net Promoter Score, Lifetime Value, and Customer Acquisition Cost, I learned how to articulate the value of product initiatives in a structured way. This not only helps in correctly identifying NSM but also in making data-driven decisions in real-world scenarios.
