Across all world regions people in rural areas are poorer than people in urban areas. ➡️ 83.7% of multidimensionally poor people live in rural areas ➡️ Overall, 28% of the global rural population are multidimensionally poor, compared with 6.6% of the urban population. Why is bad sometimes good? In the US, the frequency of mentions of the word "poverty" in local media and real poverty indicators have an inverse correlation: the more it is spoken about, the lower the poverty level in real statistics. The poor are too noticeable against the backdrop of overall success. However, poverty problems in impoverished regions warrant more attention. This social phenomenon surely has a name, and politicians use it. Moral for the product owner: Don't draw conclusions based on metadata

This approach aims to alleviate poverty, chaos, and conflict, which in turn naturally reduces birth rates and stabilizes population growth. On the other hand, artificially induced war, chaos, poverty, lawlessness, and corruption do not lower birth rates; instead, they lead to the creation of slums and extreme poverty. These areas often become hotspots for high birth rates and increased population pressure

Reduced extreme poverty, increased consumption, decreased inequality. What does it say about development; increase wealth & use it to decrease poverty. Generally it is expected that with higher economic growth rate inequality will also increase. In this case government used taxes fairly & used them fairly for the poor.

The new report, prepared by Michael Mendelson, Maytree Fellow and a former Deputy Minister in Ontario and Manitoba, with Geranda Notten, Professor of Comparative Public Policy at the University of Ottawa's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, introduces a Material Deprivation Index (MDI) – a poverty metric that's widely used in Europe to measure a poverty level standard of living – with Canadian data. The MDI illuminates hidden poverty by showing that an estimated 25% of Canadians are living in poverty because they cannot afford two or more household essentials. Wow, have you heard? The poverty index is a whopping 529% for the first half of 2024, according to INDEC's latest report. Surpassed by a staggering margin compared to 2023's 41.7%.
