Yesterday, I was invited to be a panelist at an internal Google EMEA event in Dublin. We talked about the changes in the industry, and I had a chance to discuss how we need to measure the real impact of marketing investment on 'backend' numbers such as Orders, Revenue, Gross Profit, new vs. existing customers, CAC, Blended ROAS, Blended POAS, and Contribution Margin. All of these numbers are not impacted by privacy regulations, so they are always real numbers and are comparable year over year. We need to make sure we do not base our most important investment decisions solely on data that is either now incorrect because of cookies consent, etc., or only on modeled data.
