As we came to the end of delivering an empowerment programme last week, part of the feedback was a creative and reflective activity which allowed the young people to use words to express themselves. They used some of our organisation values and some empowering words to articulate their thoughts and feelings. The aim of the activity was to remind the young people of some of the things that we have learnt and use these cards to retain their focus. As always, in our final sessions we had lots of fun, played some games and they certainly enjoyed the PS5 🎮 some good debates and jokes 😂

Your students be the hardest working people in the room, not you! Teachers might find it helpful to consider how playtimes are structured, as keeping children engaged can prevent boredom, which is often when behavioral issues arise. Introducing routines like games, clubs, outdoor board games, or other organized activities can make playtimes more enjoyable and productive. In the classroom, creating lessons that are both fun and structured, with opportunities for students to be active participants, can support positive behavior. Incorporating challenges, differentiating tasks, and maintaining a good pace can help keep students engaged and focused. Additionally, offering before and after school clubs can provide more structured activities, helping to keep students interested and involved throughout the day. #teachingandlearning #behavourmanagement #teachingandlearning #elementaryteachers #primaryschoolteachers #backtoschool #teachingandlearningtips

Play is at the core of my process and my work. Why? Because we as humans learn best through play. It’s our very earliest form of learning. Give a kid a game and they will learn math ten times faster than if you give the same child a boring lecture on that math concept. And, guess what? We adults aren’t that different. Play comes in lots of forms. Most importantly, it is a mindset! Nothing has to be serious unless we choose to make it serious. Easy ways that I bring play into my workshops: * Music * Movement * Visuals * Humor * Simple game mechanics Want to learn more about integrating play into your workplace? Contact me!
