I am hiring a lawyer in a content writing role, to write original content around emerging legal challenges faced by clients, CEOs, CFOs, and startup founders and how they can be catered to more effectively. You will need to create new solution-focussed legal skills on an everyday basis, get on calls with people and identify where traditional legal solutions fail (pricing, outcome, anything) and create innovative solutions This content will be used to share insights and learnings with lawyers on how to be future-ready, create new solutions for clients and even run profitable practices. This role is full-time role, fully remote (no part time gigs possible) Here are lawyers who may like to work in this role: 1. If you are a lawyer who has run a legal practice but does not enjoy BD & run a massive legal operation. You would rather research and create original content that can be utilised by others. You also do not like traditional office jobs. 2. You derive more joy from your insights being implemented by the world than by using them yourself in your practice. 3. You always have the urge to challenge the status quo and innovate and are not intellectually constrained. 4. You are not held back by age, legacy, or lack of validation from seniors, and judge value by the quality of work. 5. You are willing to learn more things on a day-to-day basis (I will not be able to personally teach you) and are willing to grow by solving challenges on the job 6. You do not feel constrained by your prior experience, education, or by an idea of an LLM, MBA or other qualifications to give you “exposure” to do more and better. I spend a lot of time speaking with people who are looking to change legal ops roles. I encourage them to think about the following: ✋ Head of legal ops or not: Do you want to be the person running the function? I know people who stepped up into the role and enjoy it; I also know people who are happy to remain individual contributors in legal ops. 💡 Originate or inherit legal ops: Do you want to be the company's first legal ops hire? Building a function from scratch can be exciting. It can also be a slog. To be sure, it's a different kind of challenge altogether. 🏢 Company/legal team size: Do you want to work in a small, medium, or large company (which usually maps to legal team size)? IMO there *is* a "right answer" for each individual based on experience. At this point you can say (for example), "I want to originate the legal ops function at a medium-sized company." Then it's a question of comparing offers against one another. My strong recommendation is to prioritize as follows: 👱 Work for the best boss you can find. A great boss is what will ultimately get you the scope, comp, and title you want. 📑 Scope is so important because, uh, it's what you'll actually be doing. Make sure it aligns with your ambition and interests. 💵 Say it with me: Comp is more important than title. Comp is more important than title. The in-house legal market is warming up! Over the past 12 months, we saw a slow down in hiring. But, it seems that the market is starting to gain strength. Talking with GCs at VCs, it sounds like their workload is picking up and we're seeing the knock on effect with hiring in the tech space. Hiring again!! It's a full time, remote, work from anywhere job. So, read on. I'm looking to hire someone who can write long form articles. But, here's a catch - we don't write theoretical pieces. Hence, you must have some industry experience and expertise. What kind? PQE of 3+ years as a commercial/corporate litigation lawyer. So, if you are quitting litigation and need a work from home job, this could be your calling. But don't apply simply because you need a job. I'm looking to hire people who are thrilled about writing, imparting knowledge, and putting their work out for the world to read. If you are not someone who enjoys these, this will not work out for you. Save us both the time and energy. What are the perks? 1. The salary I'm offering is 50k (plus performance based incentives) 2. You won't have to commute to work or travel anywhere for this However, this is a full time job, so you can't do anything on the side. 8 hours a day for 5 days a week- that's the commitment.
