Driving Change: Recap of Our MBC Event Participation Cemex Philippines recently participated in a discussion hosted by the Makati Business Club on Extended Producer Responsibility and the Circular Economy, focusing on House Bills 8791 and 9791. Our Public Affairs and Sustainability Manager, Maikee Evangelista, represented the company as the only construction industry participant, sharing our efforts to provide lower carbon solutions. The discussion explored diverse approaches to achieving a circular economy, including interim solutions like refuse-derived fuel and waste-to-energy systems. The session also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors. Arnold Tukker and Deputy Head of Mission Robert van der Hum from the Netherlands Embassy in Manila emphasized the need for a system that benefits all stakeholders, inspired by the Dutch model of open conversation among government, private sector, and academia. This event reinforced our commitment to sustainability and provided valuable insights to integrate into our practices, supporting a framework that benefits both business and the environment. #MBC #circulareconomy #erp #sustainability Photo courtesy: Makati Business Club By: Mary Cassandra Uy-oco

Collaboration and sparring are key when approaching very complex challenges. I’m so grateful to meet such enthusiastic peers and professionals at Sustainable Procurement Pledge - The Denmark Chapter to get inspired and advance on decarbonising our supply chains and source more responsible. This slide shows the ambition ladder which I find as an interesting reflection for the long weekend ahead. 📌 Where do we want to position ourselves? Because we are asking a lot to our suppliers… We are all learning with all new legislative requirements but it’s good to remember the vision ahead. #sustainablesupplychain #ambition

In order to reach a truly Regenerative Economy I don’t think there is a corporate function where the transformation will be bigger, than the changes needed in Procurement.🌿 Join us at the SPP UK Chapter networking event in Salford, where I have the pleasure of speaking and sharing how Artemis can help. It should be a great opportunity to connect with Procurement and Sustainability colleagues across the region, to discuss the challenges and solutions explored elsewhere to speed up your own journey. 🚀 🥂 #SPP #NorthWest #Procurement #Regenerativeeconomy #Artemis

Four years ago, like these days back in 2020, the world was busy with COVID lockdowns... meanwhile, we were focused on how we would build new roads from old tires by inaugurating our Rubber Bitumen Project on time! MOL Group was ahead of the game in sustainability back then, investing in this patent Hungarian technology to recycle 8-10 percent of Hungary's domestic tire waste and turn it into 20,000 tons of rubber bitumen annually. The project faced immense challenges from every angle. The most daunting was coordinating with suppliers to sustain manufacturing under lockdown restrictions and ensuring a seamless transport of materials across Europe to Hungary. Success was possible thanks to the remarkable agility of project manager János Schronk, strong leadership under Krisztian Pulay, and a highly collaborative project team, from Procurement, permitting, program management, design disciplines engineers, cost estimators, schedulers, operators, and all other cross-functional teams. The project was commenced on time and featured on Bloomberg. Watch this 2min video for more details. https://lnkd.in/d5j7nfak
