ProseraPod: Ask Ron Besuijen 🎙 How does dynamic simulation fit into the development of an effective training program? Ron's Response:🎙 Most programs to train and qualify panel operators start the same way. The trainee will read all the associated manuals which are usually followed by some written or electronic test questions. These questions can also be about the associated procedures, or the procedures are reviewed with a qualified operator. All very good strategies to get to know the process. Even with all this training, I believe most panel operators would say they struggled when they had to handle their first process upset and that they did not feel prepared to make the required decisions. The analogy I like to use is if we trained a Formula 1 driver on the freeway. They would get some great experience traveling at 70 MPH and although the experience can seem scary to some, it does not compare to a Formula 1 race. They can be traveling at speeds over 200 MPH and then must prepare for a hairpin corner. Could you imagine how poorly they would perform if the first time they drove on a Formula 1 racetrack was on race day? This is what we are asking of our panel operators if we do not allow them to practice upset responses prior to an event in the actual process. Except I believe our processes are more complex than a Formula 1 race. This is why we should have a simulator training program. A simulator training program consists of preparatory work and hands-on experience, where board operators practice key routines such as startup, emergency procedures, and handling malfunctions or failures. These will be covered in future ProseraPods. https://lnkd.in/gN3zdqxG #Prosera #ProseraPod #InnovateAtProsera #OperatorTraining #Operator #Manufacturing

These trainers are designed to train technicians in the operation, theory, maintenance, servicing, and trouble shooting of fuel injection systems. These trainers have been developed to address these training needs with special intentions in understanding the system closed loop control with various sensors inputs and the output signals for fuel management and ignition spark timing control. The Labtech Motronic Type Multi Point EFI System Trainer is unique in the fact that it is designed to operate just as if it was on the vehicle. The purpose of this is to allow the student not only to familiarize himself with the operational characteristics of the system but so that he may carry out servicing and diagnostic tests according to the procedures in the factory vehicle service manuals. The end training result is that the student will receive a good grounding the theory and operational characteristics of the system but more importantly he will also be able to service, diagnose, and troubleshoot the Motronic type and Multi Point EFI system. Key Features of the Trainer: • Integrated Components: The trainer incorporates original components of the Motronic EFI system, allowing for detailed study and interaction. • Diagnostic Tools: Equipped with meters and signal monitoring capabilities, students can observe real-time data from various sensors, enhancing their understanding of engine management. • Interactive Learning: The ability to alter operational conditions and immediately see the effects on system performance reinforces learning through experimentation. The Labtech Motronic Type Multi Point EFI System Trainer provides an invaluable educational resource for students aiming to specialize in automotive technology. By bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application, it equips students with the skills necessary to effectively service, diagnose, and troubleshoot modern engine management systems. MOT platform designed to boost standards and tester skills... Multi-site workshops could benefit from Autotech Training’s web-based platform MOTsafe, which provides a comprehensive snapshot of vital MOT data from each garage, boosting efficiency and enabling owners to take proactive measures to safeguard compliance. Multi-franchise group Brayleys Cars implemented MOTsafe after sporadic monitoring of MOT data left them vulnerable to oversights that could have serious implications. It enabled them to identify anomalies quickly, most notably, an MOT logged twice in one day due to a system crash. They were able to alert the DVSA and rectify before it escalated. A notable advantage for Brayleys was the ability to analyse critical metrics, including retest speeds and Pass after Rectification at Station (PRS) rates. This also opened up new avenues for identifying training opportunities for their MOT testers. www.autotechtraining.co.uk

Can't send all of your technicians to new model training? I have a solution, and it may be easier than you think. New model training can be disruptive, time-consuming, and costly. It's one of those "damned if you do and damned if you don't" things. If you don't send techs, you're doing customers a disservice, plus probably making your own job harder by sacrificing diagnostic and repair times. So why not deliver your own, local training? If the OEM has already developed a training manual and PowerPoint, you can use that. All you need is someone to deliver the course, such as one of the techs who went to training. They don't have to be thorough, just go through the points that stood out for them. Make it into a Pizza night for the team! Or, you could use an experienced automotive trainer, from KIBŌ Learning Solutions. Probably for the cost of sending a couple of technicians to another city for OEM training. Here’s something to think about When you need a mechanic, you don't ask about their certifications—you care if they can actually fix your car. Same with most companies. It's not about how many courses you've taken; it's about what you can do with that knowledge.
