Web Summit 2024: Missed Opportunity for True Innovation After attending Web Summit 2024, it's hard not to feel a bit disappointed. While AI dominated the agenda (again) and some robotic, there was surprisingly little that felt truly new. Instead of bold innovation, many sessions felt like just another round of companies pushing their products. There was an overwhelming focus on showcasing solutions that already exist rather than presenting new, disruptive ideas. This was a chance to push the boundaries and explore the future of tech, yet it felt more like a rehash of what we’ve already seen. Web Summit had an opportunity to lead with fresh thinking, but instead, it seemed like we were stuck in yesterday’s conversations.  Let’s hope next year’s event brings more daring ideas and less sales talk.  What did you think of this year’s summit? Augmented Engineering Accelerator Forum in Gothenburg - what an incredible event! 🤖🚗💡 This half-day was filled with new insights and knowledge on the transformative impact of #GenerativeAI and #AI in the automotive domain, with a focus on research and development. The audience was brimming with Business and Industry Leaders from the Automotive Domain, as well as Automotive Professionals eager to learn about implementing, using, and further developing AI solutions. 🚗 My personal key takeaways from the event were: - Leverage AI for Context activities, while keeping humans for the Core activities. - There's a big need for wider awareness - people must be trained in AI and plan a strategy that involves upskilled engineers. - Invest in partnerships and utilize the existing ecosystem, don't reinvent the wheel. - Don't invest in "building from scratch" - several solutions are already ready and can get you started faster. - Prioritize and pick scalable use cases that can bring visibility and measurable results. - To be successful, be bold, be aware of ethical and legal implications, and include a process of securing your organization and data. - Have a bold vision, dare to try, and start now. Don't look only at small use cases such as chatbots - think big! 🌟 Remember, the key is to embrace the power of AI while maintaining a human-centric approach. 🤖 A big thank you to all the speakers - Andy Vickers, Meghan Young, Ivar Aune, Caroline Segerstéen Runervik, Marc Blanchon, Haiko Steitzer, and Khaled W.
