IMAGINE YOU ARE THE CEO... WHAT DO YOU DO? Your video creation team is one guy... he sets up, scripts, shoots, edits and schedules all videos himself. That one person hates editing video and is very slow at it. As the CEO, do you 1) Make him pivot to only live streaming and short form video to remove 99% of the editing? 2) Hire an editor (your budget is small - hence the one bloke department)? 3) Something else?

Let me be real with you. If your shop is packed and you feel like you can’t handle any more work, you’re thinking too small. You need someone responsible for filming the jobs that come through your doors. No excuses. Right now, I have clients who’ve got their technicians and managers filming, and it’s working. The next phase is hiring someone dedicated to capturing content full-time. Take Anthony Montoya. He has an in-house media manager filming daily. Every car, every repair, every opportunity. He sends us that content, and we turn it into ads that keep his shop thriving. This isn’t just about staying busy. It’s about staying relevant. Every job you film today is another customer tomorrow. Stop waiting. Start building your media team now.

Many companies post "WE ARE HIRING" ads, promising opportunities, but the reality behind the scenes is often quite different. In today's fast-paced digital world, video editing has become an essential skill. Yet, despite its rising demand, video editors are facing significant challenges when it comes to job opportunities, particularly on platforms like LinkedIn. Instead of offering fair compensation for the creativity and technical expertise required, many agencies expect high-quality work for much lower pay. They demand video editors to handle multiple roles—from scripting to post-production—without providing adequate resources or fair wages. The expectation to deliver exceptional results under tight deadlines, with little support, has left many video editors feeling overworked and undervalued. This disparity between expectations and compensation is a growing concern in the creative industry. Video editors deserve recognition, fair pay, and working conditions that reflect the importance of their contributions. Until companies adjust their expectations and offer fair deals, video editors will continue to struggle in this evolving hiring landscape. #Hiring #videoediting

How I’m Hiring the Best Video Editors for My Agency 😬 Hiring top talent is like dating—you swipe right, but sometimes they swipe left. 😅 Here’s what we did: - We began with a simple SOP for hiring, but learned new things after each meeting, leading us to continually tweak it. Now, it's more of a “Still Ongoing Process.” 😂 - We went where the talent hangs out. From there, we found some of the best editors in the game. (Fu*k Job Boards) - My co-founder Nazmul Sajeeb handled most of these. Yes, it’s time-consuming (and sometimes a pain in the 🍑), but we’ve so far added 10 editors already into the team and two editors who’ve worked with creators with millions of subscribers (can’t drop names—NDA life 😅). At the end of the day, all this effort is aimed at one thing: hitting that $100k/month goal by 2026. If you have any tips feel free to drop in the comment. 😁 #VideoEditingAgency #ScalingUp #TeamBuilding #AgencyLife

🚩Remember: A Creative Director is hired to DIRECT the creative. The title is the job description. If you’re being thrown “idunnos”w/ no compass that’s called a vague director. And the only traction you’ll get is spinning wheels.

The difference between a good video project and a Great video project? Having a cohesive strong vision that is communicated clearly through every stage of pre production, Production and post. Everyone should know the vision and in the final edit that will show much stronger. The flipside is projects where the people talking to the client never inform production and are not on set, then post gets footage without a clear brief. Those editors can make miracles but it will never be as good as having a game plan to begin with. Hiring the right people is not enough. Someone needs to be that communicator that molds the project to their vision.
