#ICYMI, here's the recording of the Accredited Public Relations (APR) webinar by Canadian Public Relations Society. All tips, no tricks to assuage your fears of the #APR - just in time for #Halloween! 🎃 🔶 Do you only have #InternalCommunications examples for your work sample? Fear not. You can absolutely write up a robust work sample based on internal communications alone. Example: my APR work sample in 2021 was a communications plan for employee return to office during the #COVID19 pandemic. 🔶 No APR references for your application? The National Council of Accreditation can help facilitate connections. Email certification@cprs.ca 🔶 Want to understand how you'd be tested? Peruse the CPRS member portal for resources. There are past written exams and work samples for reference. More tips in this webinar presented by Tom Ormsby, APR, Alex Sévigny, PhD, APR and me. I welcome questions. ⤵ https://lnkd.in/gBTvyfwQ Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) - Hamilton

Fellow #PR practitioners: did you know that April is APR Month for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)? I received my Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2007 and have maintained the credential since then. I look back at it as a pivotal career moment, changing the way I approach my work and helping me build PR programs that moved me from tactician to being a business partner. One thing I really like about the APR is it tends to signify that people with the credential are committed to ethical practice. The stereotypes of PR and many of the most-visible PR people on TV are not the role models we need for our profession and the people we serve. APRs are. I encourage PR professionals everywhere to consider pursuing the APR. It is a challenging process, but the upsides make it all worth it. Choosing to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations Management is akin to understanding the fundamental building blocks of society, much like atoms are to matter. Just as atoms combine to form complex structures, effective public relations is essential for building and nurturing relationships that sustain organizations and communities. The Spark of Interest My interest in Public Relations Management was ignited by the realization that communication is the lifeblood of any successful endeavor. In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to communicate effectively (ie. both verbally and non-verbally )and build trust is paramount. The Importance of Public Relations Today In today's digital age, where information travels at lightning speed, the need for skilled Public Relations professionals (like myself 😂) has never been greater. Public relations serves as a bridge between organizations and their stakeholders, ensuring that messages are not only heard but understood.
