Have some good news <3
EVERY👏🏼KENNEL👏🏼EMPTY👏🏼 We are shocked, grateful, overjoyed, humbled, and PROUD of the way our community showed up for the animals in need in Dorchester County. There are officially NO DOGS & NOT CATS left on campus at Dorchester Paws🎉🐾 We’re so grateful for those of you who have opened your home to be a Storm Foster, to keep an innocent animal safe from the flood waters as they rise, and providing a warm loving place to land for a few days♥️

The reason a dog has so many friends is he wags his tail instead of his tongue. I don't know the origin of the phrase, I just know that the first time I recall hearing it was in a song by the band Aerosmith. A dog isn't interested in gossip or backbiting, it's just happy to see you, and maybe wants a little treat. They live in the moment, and they move on from disappointment quickly. They may have been pining for you to come home all day, but as soon as you come in that door they're there at your feet, perhaps inviting you to give them a nice belly rub! I strongly believe that one of the main purposes and privileges of being a human being is to take care of animals. And the way that a society treats its animals says a lot about the value of that society and is a historically accurate predictor of the future viability of that society. So it brings me great pleasure to announce that my website deafdingo dot com is actively being developed, and more information will be forthcoming in the coming days. One of the main focuses will be on animal care, and the benefits of adoption, with a specific focus on needs animals, such as the late Bleu, whom the website was created and named for. There will be opportunities for guest contributors, and as it will be a for-profit site, though with free promotion and advertisement for animal shelters and the like, I am thinking of creative ways to offer compensation for contributors and to help provide them with an alternative platform. So if you're not following me, or haven't hit my bell, now's the time to do so. I plan on releasing more information in the coming days and weeks. #socialnetworking #opentoconnect #adoptdontshop #support #community

It’s so important for us all to start talking about this — the sheltering system as we see it now cannot continue and is unsustainable, requiring us all to ask some questions and re-think what’s feasible. We have a system that is chronically misunderstood, unsupported, underfunded, and under-resourced with pressures that only increase and no end in sight on need. We need community and government support as we work through huge questions like this and the potential solutions of the future. We need systemic solutions to these systemic problems. #animalwelfare #animalsheltering
Recently, I was part of an email thread in which Dr. Kate Hurley spoke with such clarity and passion about the current state of animal sheltering and the challenges that we face, that I asked her if I could reformat her emails into something we could share more broadly. Dr. Hurley is one of the most significant thought leaders in our movement and her words resonated deeply with me, as I imagine they will for many of you. Here's the longer version of the quotation in this image: "The struggle that many shelters are experiencing right now is an expression of an inherently unworkable system, where there is no mechanism to match expectations of intake and service to the community, with capacity to meet those needs in a safe and humane way. The larger the shelter, the more dramatic this mismatch tends to be and any wobble in staffing or surge in intake leads to more severe and often spiraling consequences." This coming Monday, I'll share Dr. Hurley's message in full, which includes her thoughts about a different way forward. Did you know ... Every year in the U.S., about 6.5 million animals go into animal shelters. Roughly half of them are cats and half are dogs. National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day raises awareness for thousands of pets that are waiting for (and needing) adoption from the shelters. Many people observe #NationalAdoptaShelterPetDay by going to pet shelters, adopting pets, spreading the word among their friends and colleagues, and taking to social media to spread the message to adopt, donate or volunteer. #MinXray encourages people to volunteer at their local animal shelters, as they require year-round assistance. These shelters need daily help to ensure the good health and well-being of all their sheltered pets. #ShelterDogs #ShelterCats #PetAdoption
Today Is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. Please Consider Adopting, Donating or Volunteering!

Though it's powerful, Why not stop using animal milk? Isn't this a better solution? why not be vegan and stop eating animal proteins? It's easily said and shouted but it's difficult because our taste buds are used to these as a ready to consume food to make us more convenient and more lazy in a race to run job timings. These are my personal thoughts. what are yours! Preachers do not practice that includes me too because we are biased so badly that we can't come out of this rut. A revolution only will bring in change. It's a good awareness program that's effective as a prelude to it.
Check out this powerful "Milk is Not Human(e)" demonstration that happened in London on the weekend at the National Gallery during its 200th anniversary. This campaign, created by speciesism.wtf, is being taken up in cities around the world including in Toronto on Mother's Day outside the AGO... organized by a member of the Animal Justice Academy Amanda Oakes. ❤️ You can read about that here: https://lnkd.in/egKdWC5D

Book editing robot? Yesterday I invited you to our event, which starts in under 2 hours, all about using ChatGPT to edit your book. I know from experience that editing is one of the most tedious and laborious book creation tasks, and having AIU that can take most of the load is a blessing! However, remember, 'garbage in = garbage out.' You’ll only get the best results if you know the right prompts. So, I ask you this… …can you afford not to find out what these prompts are today? If not, then book in for a 45 min power session on it at the Thought Leader Author Forum (12pm prompt start today): CLICK HERE TO GRAB YOUR SEAT: https://lnkd.in/essBqbbx Remember, we're partnered with Business For Good, who make donations based on your choice (plant 1 tree, provide 2 meals, offer 3 days of shelter, or support 2 animal protection programs) just for registering! See you LIVE at 12pm. #bookpublishing #thoughtleadership #chatgpt https://lnkd.in/eCqEXrmF
