College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) now authorizes Registered Nurses (RNs) to prescribe certain medications and diagnose for prescribing purposes, enhancing their role in healthcare. This initiative, starting with approved regulations in November 2023, aims to meet increasing patient demands by enabling RNs to treat non-complex conditions more autonomously. The change follows completion of specific CNO-approved educational programs, improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency across Ontario. This significant development in nursing practice supports quicker and more convenient healthcare delivery to communities, especially those in remote areas #nurses #healthcare The following chart lists the medications authorized RNs can prescribe in Ontario: https://lnkd.in/e9_actAg

Providence Chief Nursing Officer: All Hospitals Should Be Using These 3 Tools – MedCity News - MedCity News #ProvidenceNursingTools In a recent interview, the Chief Nursing Officer at Providence emphasized the importance of utilizing three key tools in all hospitals to combat nursing burnout and improve patient care. These tools are: #DigitalHealthRecords, #TelehealthPlatforms, and #ClinicalDecisionSupportSystems. #DigitalHealthRecords are essential for streamlining patient information and improving communication among healthcare providers. By having all patient data in one place, nurses can access information quickly and make more informed decisions. #TelehealthPlatforms have become increasingly important, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. They allow for remote consultations and monitoring, reducing the burden on nurses and providing patients with convenient access to care. #ClinicalDecisionSupportSystems help nurses make evidence-based decisions by ai.mediformatica.com #nurses #nursing #hospitals #medcity #news #robots #health #this #virtualnursing #workforce #nurseburnout #tools #digitalhealth #healthit #healthtech #healthcaretechnology @MediFormatica (https://buff.ly/3Pvtg1b)

Nurse | MBA Candidate | Integrating Clinical Expertise with Business Acumen to Drive Healthcare Forward
I'm thrilled to share my blog, "Nurse Reimbursement: Redefining Nursing’s Value," published in The Nursing Beat, about my experience at the Commission for Nurse Reimbursement’s Legislative Summit. The piece explores the evolution of nursing in the U.S., from the 1920s when private duty nurses provided economic independence for women, to the 1930s when hospitals began bundling nursing services into room rates. This shift made the economic impact of nursing services invisible and reduced nurses to costs in hospital budgets. Today, this lack of a direct reimbursement model has significant consequences, including understaffing and burnout, which ultimately affects patient care. Read the full article to learn more about the challenges and implications for the nursing profession. #NursesOnLinkedin #HealthcareOnLinkedin
