🌟Help Save the Sight of Underprivileged Babies in Rural Vietnam!🌟 Imagine being a parent in rural Vietnam, unable to afford the costly and lengthy journey to urban centers where specialized medical care is available. Many families face this reality, leaving their premature infants at risk of blindness due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a condition that can be prevented with early detection and treatment. Your donations will enable us to purchase two essential digital retinal cameras, allowing us to screen and treat these vulnerable infants right where they live. By specifying “ROP CAMERA DONATION,” you ensure your support goes directly to this life-saving cause. Together, we can give these tiny fighters a brighter, clearer future. Your generosity can make a real difference. 💖 Donate now and be the light in their darkness. https://lnkd.in/gHDVaaZP #SaveVision #UnderprivilegedBabies #RuralVietnam #Charity #DonateNow #ROPproject #GiveSight

In a time when access to dental care is limited and poor in the UK, Dentaid The Dental Charity stands up to bridge the gap to fulfill the needs of the local population. If this doesn’t make people wonder about oral health beliefs and dental care in general in a developing country, I don’t know what will. Growing up in Malaysia, I had a dental check-up in primary school and toothbrushing lessons. Our water had some fluoride in it, naturally and also added. Oral health was quite crucial. I visited a school in rural Kundasang, Sabah few years back and these initiatives still stand. SK Kundasang https://lnkd.in/eSUZjX7e There are still gaps and oral health disease will still prevail but what is just not working? As many studies as we can do and initiatives can be thrown at the public but the disease is still there. The missing pieces to the various puzzles bring up many questions in this tangled web and mess. There will always be questions and problems and oral health belief. If it is supposed to be simple, oral health begins simply with toothbrush and disturbing the biofilm. Achieving cario-stasis and halting that dynamic initially reversible disease process of caries… even if you don’t like fluoride. Just do that one thing. And maybe, we can smile again without fear of being judged. Why would a nation want to keep living up to its name of being known for having bad teeth? Perhaps that was the most effective piece of brainwashing yet in oral health for the British society. 🫥🙃🪥 #brushyourteeth #oralhygiene #publichealth #dental #dentalpublichealth #healthcare #oralhealthcare #oralhealth #caries #disease #sabah #malaysia #uk #bda #mda #sdg #WHO
One of the highlights of our month is when the Dentaid The Dental Charity unit pulls up outside because we know that many of our residents and service users will see the dentist and make some headway with their teeth and oral health. These free appointments (which include extractions, fillings and checkups) are funded by several generous donors – on behalf of all those who have benefitted, a huge thank you! #homeless #charity #dental #healthcare #support

I’ve committed to stepping out for Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) in the fabulous STEPtember initiative- I hope you can help in even a small way! I’m taking 10,000 steps every day in September to help raise funds for those living with cerebral palsy. I’m well over 250,000 steps so far! It’s a small effort from me, but it’s nothing compared to the life-limiting, super challenging and debilitating conditions that people with CP have to endure every single day. All STEPtember funds raised go to CPA — some towards treatments and some to game-changing research. And research is changing things for the better - earlier diagnosis means earlier intervention means helping reduce the severity of CP is just 1 example. I hope you can sponsor me, by donating, every little bit helps.
This STEPtember, I've STEPped up for cerebral palsy.

This Steptember, Vishakha Sodah, Maurice Lim, Aditya Kumar and I are committing to 10,000 steps a day to make a real impact. We’re stepping up to support individuals with cerebral palsy, helping to raise funds for therapies that change lives. But that’s not all—your donation will also contribute to critical research that paves the way for early detection and improved treatment. Together, we can make every step count! #Steptember #StepUp

Donate to My MS150 Fundraiser Below – Whether $20 or $200 every bit counts! Almost a year after ACL surgery, I’m back on the bike and taking on the MS150 this year! If you don’t know what it is, the MS150 is a 150+ mile bike ride over the course of two days. While that’s a neat accomplishment, the more important thing is that this ride is targeting to raise $9.4MM for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society in 2024. MS is a devastating, unpredictable disease. But money raised through Bike MS fuels cutting-edge MS research and critical services to ensure people affected by MS have the resources they need to live their best lives. And I want your help making that a reality! INTERESTING FACTS: - While there are other rides like it across the country, funds raised by this ride alone total more than the funds raised by all of the other Bike MS rides in the United States put together - Money raised in this ride stays in the area and over 80% goes to research, social programs, support and financial assistance to those with MS - I tore my ACL last year right before the MS150 and opted out of riding… but there are some cyclists who ride with only one leg, so clearly I had no excuse! https://lnkd.in/gfjJXAnF

We often post about the activities our residents enjoy each day. These activities are vital to ensuring each resident can live a fulfilling life, which is at the heart of all the Meath does. But just as important, if not more, is how each and every resident is kept medically safe. Epilepsy is a very complex condition in which there are many risks we have to monitor each day. One risk is the risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). People with epilepsy who have more than one type of seizure, are on multiple anti-seizure medications and have nighttime seizures are at the highest risk for SUDEP. A reliable and state-of-the-art carer-on-call system is necessary to help keep the vulnerable residents we care for safe. As part of our capital appeal, we are upgrading our internal safety systems. To find out more about how you can support our fundraising efforts, please visit https://lnkd.in/ercSKRrd The total cost of The Meath Capital Appeal is £1.1m. Your donation will make a huge difference to us as we future proof our services. #captialappeal #fundraising #charity
