Wind Turbine Blades Arrive at Geraldton Port for the Bellevue Gold Project The wind turbine blades—four GW165/6.0MW Goldwind turbines—have arrived at Geraldton Port, marking a key milestone in the development of an 88MW hybrid power station for the Bellevue Gold Project. Under a 15-year power purchase agreement, Zenith Energy will finance, build, own, and operate this hybrid solution, which integrates wind, solar, thermal, and battery storage to supply up to 80% of the project’s energy needs from renewable sources. Once operational, the station will further enable Bellevue Gold Mine to operate on up to 100% renewable energy during optimal conditions, supporting their goal to become Australia’s first carbon-neutral gold producer and furthering our commitment to sustainable, off-grid energy for the resources sector. #ZenithEnergy #HybridPower #BellevueGold #RenewableEnergy #Decarbonisation #NetZero #SustainableMining #EnergyTransition

This video brilliantly captures the immense scale of wind turbines and the formidable transport challenges they present. It's not just about landing the equipment; it's ensuring the nearest port has quarantine staff ready to allow the ship to dock, transport experts who can assess whether the truck and load can navigate corners, effective on-road vehicle management, and finally, site access. In Western Australia, we have extensive experience handling over-width loads for mining equipment. However, dealing with over-length loads is an entirely different challenge! #Transport #WindTurbines #Logistics #WesternAustralia #RenewableEnergy

Wind and solar energy companies that signed the IRBC Agreement for the Renewable Energy Sector have committed to to carry out risk-based due diligence 👉https://lnkd.in/ecuUwZk5 Together the different parties developed a Renewable Energy Sector Due Diligence Assessment Framework. Based on this framework, the independent secretariat of the Agreement conducted a baseline assessment. Read more about the first baseline assessment and its results here. The solar and wind energy sector face different challenges. The considerable differences make it difficult to compare the two sectors, and parties need to have a different approach towards wind and solar sector companies when providing due diligence support. With the gained insights, participating companies are able to develop action plans for the second year of the Agreement and focus on where they might give or ask for more targeted knowledge from their peers within the Agreement. #IRBC #RBC #wind #solar #renewable #energy Holland Solar NedZero - Branchevereniging voor windenergie

🌬️💡 𝐔𝐊 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝟗.𝟓𝟖 𝐆𝐖 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝-𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐟𝐃 𝐀𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🌍🇬🇧 The UK government’s Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) has signed 130 contracts totaling 9.58 GW of renewable energy generation in the sixth round of the Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction, marking the largest allocation in the program's history. The projects span a variety of technologies, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, tidal, and floating offshore wind, with offshore wind accounting for approximately 5.3 GW of the awarded capacity. Notable achievements include nine fixed-bottom offshore wind contracts totaling 4.9 GW and a single floating wind project, the Green Volt Offshore Windfarm, led by Flotation Energy and Vårgrønn. Once operational, the projects will bring the UK’s total CfD-backed renewable energy capacity to 34.74 GW. Among the significant projects is ScottishPower’s East Anglia Two Wind Farm, which will deliver 963 MW of clean energy by 2028/2029 and power nearly one million homes. 🌬️ Exciting Updates in Offshore Wind Energy! 🌊 The offshore wind industry has taken significant strides over the past year, particularly in the U.S. Here are some key highlights: 1. **Major Capacity Goals**: Eight states are leading the charge with procurement mandates aiming for 45,730 MW of offshore wind by 2040. Recently, 15 contracts for 12,378 MW have been signed—this momentum is crucial for achieving our renewable energy targets! 2. **Infrastructure Support**: Investment in port infrastructure and domestic supply chains is essential for fostering a robust offshore wind market. By manufacturing and deploying wind turbines locally, we can reduce our dependency on international suppliers and boost economic growth. 3. **Floating Offshore Wind Potential**: The U.S. floating offshore wind market is making waves with about 25,116 MW in the pipeline! The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has unveiled a leasing plan through 2028 that includes seven promising auctions for deep-water installations. However, we also face challenges. Recent research from *Wind Energy Science* has shown that interactions between turbines can lead to a potential reduction of over 30% in power output due to the "wake effect." Yet, even with this in mind, these wind farms could still meet around 60% of New England's electricity demand! How do you see these developments influencing the future of renewable energy? What are your thoughts on the balance between challenges and opportunities in this space? Let's engage and share insights!
