I am deeply grateful for all the heartfelt messages of congratulations regarding my “ 9 years” at Good Things Guy. However, it’s ridiculosuly funny how we can sometimes find ourselves in a loop of automated responses on LinkedIn. Example (and I am sure this is totally relatable): Person: “Congrats on your work anniversary” Me: “Thank you” Person: “You’re Welcome” Me: “Awesome” Person: “Nice” Me: “👍🏼” Person: “Okay” Me: “Okay” Person: “Thank you”  Person: “You’re Welcome” Me: “Awesome” Person: “Nice” Me: “👍🏼” Person: “Okay” Me: “Okay” Person: “Thank you” You get the point. 😂🤣

Here's how certain types of email addresses can impact our decision on whether to proceed with an interview: Too Casual or Inappropriate: Email addresses like surferdude42@provider.com or giggles123@provider.com might not convey the professionalism you want in a workplace setting. Overly Complex or Unprofessional: It's challenging to take seriously an email like crazychick1995@provider.com or john.doe_the_greatest@provider.com. These can suggest a lack of judgment regarding professional norms. Outdated Email Providers: An address from long-abandoned providers might hint at a reluctance to adapt to new technologies, which can be a red flag in dynamic industries. Tip: If your current email address might raise eyebrows, it's worth setting up a new one that includes just your name or a simple variation thereof, such as j.smith@provider.com or elizabeth.brown@provider.com. I want you to think about... Who is grateful for having you in their life? It can be your partner, your kids, your parents, your siblings... could your friends, colleagues or just a stranger on the bus as you were very nice to... They don't have to have ever said to you. So many people do not express their emotions fully. But deep down you know, there are people who grateful for you being alive. And there comes a sense of inner peace with it. If you struggle to find people you think are grateful for you, it is likely you own self image getting in the way. People will be grateful for you. Things get really exciting when you take this approach into everyday life. Who can I make grateful for me today? What a beautiful question that is? You hold doors open more, smile at strangers more, engage in conversations with checkout staff more. You hug your kids tighter more often, praise your partner more. Your customers because you change their lives will be grateful that you exist. Isn't that just wonderful? Today, use gratitude in a different kind of way. "Who is grateful for having me in their life?" and "Who can I make grateful for me today?" Just something to think about but it can be absolutely game-changing (Thank you David Key)

On this Thanksgiving eve eve I considered writing a cheesy post about how thankful I am for my customers. 🧀 So I did. 😊 The customers in my portfolio are doing incredible work, and I am beyond fortunate that they view me as a partner rather than just a vendor. I AM thankful for them! 😍 But appreciating good customers is easy. Every decent CSM can do that. Great CSMs are grateful for their customers' problems. 🤔 The business challenges and the technical obstacles.  The floundering programs that struggle to see a viable path to success. Lagging user adoption.  Troubleshooting bugs and crafting workarounds. Customer problems are a gift. They are a chance to draw upon experience, think creatively, and implement solutions that make life better for the customer. As Albert Einstein famously said, "In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity." In Customer Success, difficulties provide us with the opportunity to impress and delight our customers. 🌻 To all my customers, I am grateful for you AND your problems! 💝 Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 🏈 🍂 🥧
