📢 Registrations for the ESDN 2024 Conference are still open until May 24th, and we are thrilled to announce that over 120 participants have already signed up! As we find ourselves just over the halfway point to reaching the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, with only six more years left, the ESDN and co-organizers will focus this year’s Conference on transformative policies. The Global Sustainable Development Reports (2019 and 2023) have identified the entry points to transformational change. The purpose of this Conference is to learn more about transformations and how to bring them about, as well as learn from good practice cases from national governments, local governments, civil society organizations, the business sector, academia, and science. Are future OSH professionals ready? The world of work is facing new challenges due to rapid technological change, globalization, and climate change. At the #WOS2024 Conference two weeks ago at Institut für Arbeit und Gesundheit (IAG), DGUV Akademie Dresden, we had the opportunity to present our current #ENETOSH and #OSHAfrica research project for the first time. Together with Professor Dingani Moyo (FRCP, FFOM, MFOM, MOHS, MAppMgnt, MBChB), Ulrike Bollmann and Johannes Siegrist we will research how the UN SDG 8 is integrated into academic programs related to OSH, as well as organizational structures of universities in Africa. The key goals of our project are:   📈 Identify Best Practices and Challenges in implementing SDG 8 🌐 Create a Network for Exchange among African and European universities  🌱 Promote Decent Work and Sustainable Economic Development We are excited for the collaboration between African and European experts and the valuable knowledge we will create together. 

I am pleased to share the link to my intervention as President of the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations during the opening day of the World Summit on Information Society Forum High-Level Event #WSIS2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. It's the fifth event from the top of the archived list. My intervention starts shortly after 30:00. In it, I emphasized the legacy of the #wsisprocess that modeled a participatory, consultative, collaborative, and innovative relation among #civilsocietyorganizations, the #UN System, and governments at all levels on matters of governance of information, communication, and digital technologies, including artificial intelligence. Just one quote from what I said: "The current digital divide and widespread disinformation in social media does not augur well for a world already in excess of fear and in deficit of hope. Talking to a few participants about the conference finding out how the conference has been so far and what their expectations are for the next days. These are young people of #AfAS, one is attending the #AfAS2024 for the first time and it is her first time attending a conference. What a way to start. The other one's research is firmly placed within science and society. The future is in good hands.
