Understanding the Impact This #CAPMonth, let's look at the numbers: Over 650,000 children were found to be victims of maltreatment in the US last year, and this is likely an underestimate. Behind these numbers are real children facing real challenges. But there's hope – through our collective efforts, we can make a difference. Initiatives like Digital Advocacy Day, Wearing Blue Day, and donations to Prevent Child Abuse America or state chapters play a crucial role. These actions strengthen our fight against child abuse and neglect, ensuring every child has the chance to grow up in a safe, loving environment. No child should ever have to endure the horrific experience of abuse. No child should feel alone in the fight to survive and thrive. We can help. If we don’t get comfortable talking about the fact that abuse is happening to 1 in 7 children throughout Utah, then nothing will change. We are all responsible for the welfare of future generations within our communities and beyond. Together, we can make a BIG difference for small voices to be heard. Here are three ways to get comfortable talking about the uncomfortable topic of child abuse: 1️⃣ Donate: Financial contributions are crucial to support the Friends programs and initiatives. Even a small donation can go a long way in providing resources and assistance to the 3700 child victims (including their family members) affected by child abuse annually in Salt Lake County. Make a donation using our bio link and receive the “Rise to Thrive” playlist by globally recognized @djmegantaylor to help survivors become thrivers. 2️⃣ Get your company involved. Abuse impacts employee families on every level and in turn impacts the productivity of your company. Consider hosting a fundraiser for the Friends to raise awareness for child abuse and the Children’s Justice Center in your organization. 3️⃣ Spread the Word: Use your voice and platforms to raise awareness about child abuse and the Friends nonprofit. Share our safety tips (link in bio), mission, events, and success stories on social media, and encourage others to get involved. Remember, every effort counts, and together we can create a safer and more nurturing community for all children. Every kid deserves a friend. 💙🤝 #EndChildAbuse #SupportFriendsNonprofit #stopthesilence #protectourchildren #risetothrive #parenting #saltlakecounty #childprotection #childabuseawareness #nooneisalone #everykiddeservesafriend

One month into our three-month campaign to raise funds for The Haven - Nepean Women's Shelter and raise awareness of Domestic & Family Violence (DFV). According to the 2022 report from The National Homicide Monitoring Program, in 2019-20, there were 45 intimate partner homicides; 36 of these were female victims (80 per cent). This averages to approximately one woman being killed by an intimate partner every 10 days (Plan 4 Women’s Safety 2022). DFV remains the leading cause of homelessness for women and children. This is unacceptable anywhere in the world, but in Australia, we have no excuse. The work and funds required to keep the doors open for women's shelters aren’t easy. That's why I've chosen to support The Haven - Nepean Women's Shelter and the incredible work they do in providing shelter for Women & Children. You can help me raise much-needed funds with little effort on your part. Simply download, stream, and share my song "DON’T TURN BACK," and all royalties will be donated to them for three months. It doesn’t always require big moves to make a big impact, so please join me in raising funds and awareness. Perhaps you have a gift or skill that can help. Take a moment to think about what you can do. Together, we can find solutions to the issues impacting our world. https://lnkd.in/g3GXt-Er #DFVPreventionMonth #CommunitySupport #TheHavenNepeanWomensShelter #empoweringwomen #endviolence #endviolenceagainstwomen #endviolenceagainstchildren #domesticviolence #endhomelessness

This October, we are partnering with Moms and Murder Podcast and Haley Gray Research on an initiative that’s close to our hearts. We’ll create and donate care bags filled with essential items for domestic violence shelters nationwide. Inspired by Rebekah's Legacy, a project founded by Angela, the mother of Rebekah Barsotti—a victim of domestic violence—we’re continuing her mission of hope and healing. Angela’s dedication to honoring her daughter’s memory through these donations has touched so many lives, and we’re excited to carry that forward. 💜 Here’s how you can make an impact: 1️⃣ Find a local shelter through DomesticShelters.org and ask how you can contribute. 2️⃣ Build your own donation bag—it’s affordable, costing around $11 per bag! 3️⃣ Drop off your donations and support survivors and their healing journey. For a full list of suggested items and more details on how to participate, check out this Google doc. https://lnkd.in/gqieYzH9 💼 If you’re joining us, don’t forget to share your bag-building journey! Tag @haleygrayresearch and @momsandmysteriespodcast to spread the word and inspire others to get involved. Let’s stand together in support of domestic violence survivors—one bag at a time! 💪 #RebekahsLegacy #DomesticViolenceAwareness #SupportSurvivors #NavigatingAdvocacy #MomsAndMysteries #TogetherWeCan

Gender-Based Violence doesn’t just affect women; it impacts families, communities, and future generations. At Zoe Choosers Initiative, we recognize the struggles of mothers and children who are survivors of abuse. This is why we are taking a bold step by launching our Diaper Bank, a safe haven to support vulnerable mothers and their babies. By addressing basic needs like diapers, we help reduce the pressure on struggling mothers, giving them one less thing to worry about as they rebuild their lives. It is more than a donation; it is a statement of care, dignity, and hope. Join us as we stand with survivors. Together, we can give every child a better start and every mother the strength to move forward. #genderbasedviolence #diaperbank #zoechoosersinitiative #supportmothers #endgbv
