BOXING Boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA) are two of the most dynamic and popular combat sports, each with its own unique set of techniques and strategies. Boxing focuses on punches and footwork, emphasizing head and body strikes delivered with precision and power It is governed by a set of rules that include weight classes and specific ways of scoring, making it a sport that values skillful maneuvering and strategic aggression On the other hand, MMA combines elements from various martial arts disciplines, such as wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and Muay Thai, allowing fighters to utilize striking, grappling, and submissions This sport requires versatility and adaptability, as competitors must master multiple techniques to succeed in the octagon. Both sports demand exceptional physical conditioning, mental toughness, and strategic acumen, though they offer distinct challenges and rewards for athletes and fans alike. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

Respect to all, but boxing is where it's at. The reality is in Boxing there are only 3 issues, 1. Skills 2. Instructions 3. Internal issues . It takes a special kind of organisation to make sure all of our sessions have an inter-relation. This means that we can learn at the specific depth of the individual martial art, or we can find the balance to transfer the skill BETWEEN martial arts. 🥊Muay thai talks to Boxing which talks to MMA. 🥋 BJJ talks to Wrestling 🤼♂️ which talks to MMA. MMA is a simple entry point where clients can practice at various levels of knowledge and intensity.

🚨 Huge rules change in MMA! 🚨 The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports Mixed Martial Arts Committee has made significant updates to the Unified MMA Rules, marking a climactic shift in the sport. First, the committee voted to eliminate the rule prohibiting the downward pointing elbow strike — or 12 to 6 elbow. This means that variations of the straight-up and down elbow strike are now legal, provided they don't alter the arc or angle. This change adds a new dimension to striking techniques, allowing fighters to utilize a powerful weapon that was previously off-limits (for no real reason). Secondly, the definition of a grounded opponent has been clarified. Now, a fighter is considered grounded and cannot be legally kneed or kicked to the head when any part of their body other than their hands or feet is in contact with the canvas. This update aims to enhance fighter safety by providing a clearer guideline for what constitutes a grounded opponent, reducing the risk of accidental illegal strikes. These updates are a positive step forward for MMA. Many believed, including myself, that the former 12 to 6 elbow strike was non-sensical, fighters now have more tools at their disposal, potentially leading to more dynamic and exciting fights. The clarification on grounded opponents ensures a higher standard of safety and fairness in the sport. Overall, these changes reflect the ABC's commitment to evolving the sport of MMA, balancing the enhancement of competition with the protection of athletes. #linkedinsports #mma #sportsbusiness #news
