About yesterday... The day dedicated to raising awareness on mental health. Psychology in Practice had the pleasure of having candid conversations with Enemed employees about factors that are impoverishing our psychological wellbeing and behaviours that can nourish within us a healthy mind which ultimately enable us to function better in our personal and professional lives. We remarked that retaining mental health is not always easy. Why? Because it comes at a cost. To value and prioritise mental health will likely mean having to give up something else you might also value. Mental health, just like physical health, requires us to be mindful of the actions we take and how these align with honouring our psychological wellbeing. #psychologyinpractice #mentalhealth

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY. 10TH OCTOBER 2024 IT IS TIME TO PRIORITISE MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE. As a Master's student in Psychology, I firmly believe that mental health should always be our first priority. On this World Mental Health Day, let's remind ourselves that a healthy mind is the foundation for personal growth, success, and well-being. Prioritize mental wellness whether it's for yourself or those around you. Together, we can break the stigma and create a world where mental health is as valued as physical health. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #Psychology #WellBeing

🌍 World Mental Health Day 2024: Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace As an M.Phil. Clinical Psychology trainee, I’ve seen how workplace pressures can weigh heavily on mental health. This year’s theme, "It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace,"reminds us that our workspaces should be places of support, not stress. Let’s create environments where people feel heard, cared for, and empowered to prioritize their well-being—because mental health matters every day. #WorldMentalHealthDay #WorkplaceWellbeing #MentalHealthMatters #MPhilClinicalPsychology

As Eswatini Psychology Association (EPA) develops in ethical practice and crucially so in contributing towards publications on mental health and psychosocial practice, we encourage the Eswatini workplace to understand the needs of their human capital. People drive performance, thus the need for investing in initiatives that facilitate significant organisation-people alignment become a strategic imperative. mental health needs investment at strategic levels to ensure that operations meet the bottomline. Sick organisations breed sick people, which impacts on achievement of strategic goals focusing on performance improvement culture. Celebrating Global Mental Month. #PsychologicalSafetyinOrganizations
As we commemorate World Mental Health Day today and this year’s theme “The importance of mental health in the workplace” I would also like to acknowledge the role and work of psychology professionals in Eswatini. May we collectively create a work environment that is conducive to providing the best quality of mental health services. 💚💚💚

Why, in the 21st century is mental health still shunned? For the body to function, the brain plays a key role! As such wanting to improve yourself or seek help isn't a sign of weakness, it is a commitment to self, it is self-care and self-development. If so, then... We must start by acknowledging that seeking mental health support is a natural and positive step toward self-improvement and well-being. It normal for common mental health struggles and we emphasize that everyone can benefit from support at some point in their lives. We offer services using neutral language: that highlight the importance of self-care and prioritizing mental health as an essential aspect of overall wellness. We encourage individuals to take proactive steps to nurture their mental and emotional well-being, framing therapy as a valuable tool for self-discovery, growth, and empowerment. We shift the focus from problems to strengths by highlighting the resilience and inner resources that individuals possess. We so much emphasize that therapy is not just about addressing challenges but also about tapping into one's own strengths and potential to lead a more fulfilling life. Mental health and wellbeing in sport and physical activity sector Tune in to the next conference session, hosted by Molly Bryne, Senior I&D Consultant at Inclusive Employers, taking place on 12th March between 11am - 12pm. It has long been known that taking part in sport and physical activity can have a profound and positive impact on mental wellbeing. Being physically active can improve mood, decrease the chance of depression and anxiety and lead to a better and more balanced lifestyle. Emerging evidence suggests that competitive sport can also paradoxically contribute to poor mental health and lead to adverse impacts on athletes’ psychological health. In this webinar we will explore: - The importance of mental health and wellbeing support - How to create an environment that removes the barriers and stigmas associated with mental health issues - How to ensure individuals are supported, helping them to improve their health, engagement, performance, and morale, as we move to the ‘new normal’

Hi, the article I’m sharing is about empathy in the mental health profession. In (2020) Damien Ridge wrote the article “Burnout is reducing the empathy of health care workers”. The main point I want to emphasize here is although being empathetic is an important quality to have in the mental health profession, those working in these profession burnout. I thought this was something to bring to others attention because having empathy in the mental health profession is a key part. Ridge (2020)“Empathy ensures people receive the best quality health care”. Burnouts happen for lots of reasons; poor work like balance, high pressure work space, being overwhelmed and lack of control. In this profession it’s important to take care of our wellbeing as well. In order to Give our best and be the support or patients need, we have to support ourselves. https://lnkd.in/eerUkTty

Mental wellbeing often takes a backseat to other priorities. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that our emotional and psychological health are just as significant as our physical fitness. In our latest video, Dr Andrew Stock prompts us to reflect on our attitudes toward mental health.
