🌟 #InternSpotlight: Kyleigh Sudlow 🌟HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO! 🥳 We are excited to introduce Kyleigh, a software engineering intern at Puberry! Kyleigh has already been doing amazing work for the past few weeks, and will continue to support Puberry throughout the Fall semester. 💙 Here’s a bit more about Kyleigh, and we’ll keep you posted on her incredible accomplishments! 👩🎓 Academic Journey: Kyleigh is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Columbia University, General Studies, and is expected to graduate in May 2025. 🩰 Ballet to Bytes: Before diving into the world of computer science, Kyleigh was a professional ballet dancer with the Boston Ballet. Her transition from the stage to the coding world showcases her versatility and drive to continuously evolve and learn. Plus, she brings incredible discipline and drive from ballet to coding! 🎸 Hobbies and Interests: Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Kyleigh enjoys playing card games and learning new songs on the ukulele. 👧 Personal Puberty Story: “When I was little, I used to love stuffing my shirt with socks... I wanted to look like a grown lady!” 💡 Passion for Puberry's Mission: “Puberry's mission and purpose relates to a few different areas that have played a large role in my life. Working as a part time nanny while earning my degree has especially opened my eyes to the lack of support that kids have in school, and sometimes even at home, when it comes to puberty. I was so thrilled to come across a business plan that aimed to fill the gaps formed by the uncomfortable topics that surface during the critical ages of puberty, and knowing that I can play a part in this developing application means the world to me. I am confident in Puberry's mission and look forward to bringing our work to the attention of my kiddos!” 🥳 Join us in celebrating Kyleigh and her incredible contributions to hashtag #Puberry as a software engineer intern! We are grateful to have her on our team and look forward to seeing the impact she will undoubtedly make, and has already made. You can also follow her Puberry journey and impact on our Puberry Instagram! 👇Plus, checkout her video to learn how her career as a professional ballerina positively impacts her professional journey as a software engineer! https://lnkd.in/exmuKi9M #TeamHighlight #Inspiration #ComputerScience #BalletToBytes #FutureLeaders #softwareengineer #summerinternship #edtech #webapp #mobileapp #consumertech #productdev #healthtech #appdevelopment #dev

The school year is winding down! While kids (and their parents!) definitely deserve some down time, the summer is a great time to continue learning and exploring. • Does your child love art? Photography? Bottle rockets? Encourage them to create and to showcase their work! • Interning or shadowing someone at work can help kids decide on a career path and also helps them gain valuable skills. • There are so many FREE summer courses available online. Kids can explore history or art, Excel or coding in a few hours per week Extracurriculars are not just about building a resume, but about gaining skills, building character, and having fun. Rather than parking in front of a screen, encourage kids to consider what they’re interested in: hobbies, sports, careers and to explore them during those “dog days of summer.” #summer #learning #education #schoolyear

Dear Parents/Guardians As we approach the summer months, I'd like to encourage you to consider alternative enrichment activities for your children beyond traditional summer lessons. While academic continuity is important, there are numerous valuable skills and experiences that can significantly benefit your child's overall development. I'd like to highlight a few options that can provide lasting value: Skill Acquisition Programs: Enrolling your children in skill acquisition programs can help them discover new talents and interests. These programs often cover a wide range of areas such as coding, robotics, arts and crafts, cooking, or music. Such activities not only engage your child's creativity but also foster problem-solving abilities and technical skills that can be beneficial in their future academic and professional lives. Public Speaking Classes: In our increasingly interconnected world, the ability to communicate effectively is paramount. Public speaking classes can help your child develop confidence, articulation, and the ability to organize thoughts coherently. These skills are invaluable in school presentations, future job interviews, and many other aspects of life. Etiquette Classes: While it may seem old-fashioned, etiquette classes teach children important social skills and cultural awareness. These classes often cover topics such as table manners, social graces, and appropriate behavior in various settings. Such knowledge can boost your child's confidence in social situations and prepare them for #future professional environments. Swimming Lessons: Swimming is not just a fun activity; it's an essential life skill. Beyond the obvious safety benefits, swimming is an excellent form of exercise that promotes physical fitness, coordination, and discipline. It's also a skill that can be enjoyed throughout one’s lifetime. While academic preparation is important, it's equally crucial to provide children with a well-rounded set of experiences and skills. These alternative activities can complement your child's education, fostering personal growth and development in ways that traditional summer lessons may not address. I encourage you to explore these options in your local community. Many community centers, sports clubs, and educational institutions offer such programs during the summer months. Investing in these experiences can yield long-term benefits for your child's personal and professional future. #UGOCHI #SUMMERSKILLS

📆 Throwback to 2017 - Internship at Kindergarten: Active Listening 🎧👂 ✨ My internship at a kindergarten was a delightful experience with invaluable educational value. During this period, I applied and became familiar with various counseling techniques, with a particular focus on Active Listening (emphasizing eye contact, body posture, and clarifying questions). ✨ Working with preschool children, including toddlers, pre-kindergarten, and pre-pre-kindergarten students, involved interactive games and group activities, enriching both the children’s learning experience and my own understanding of effective communication. #Throwback #ActiveListening #Preschool #PracticalTraining #ChildDevelopment #ikasotaki

🌟 Excited to share my transformative winter internship journey at CRY NGO. During my internship, I had the privilege to immerse myself in the exploration of STEM education as a catalyst for empowering marginalized children. It was truly inspiring to witness the transformative potential of STEM disciplines in fostering social equity and upward mobility within underprivileged communities. 🚀 Throughout my internship, I focused on three key objectives: 1️⃣ Understanding STEM Education: Explored beyond textbooks to cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills among children. 2️⃣ Implementing Effective Programs: Designed tailored STEM programs to democratize access and dismantle barriers for marginalized children. 3️⃣ Analyzing Impact: Conducted rigorous analyses to understand how STEM exposure catalyzes cognitive growth and nurtures resilience. Grateful for the journey at CRY NGO, I'm now inspired to advocate for inclusive educational practices and policy reforms. Let's build a brighter, more equitable future where every child thrives! 🌈 #WinterInternship #STEMEducation #EducationalEquity #SocialChange
