Well done to the World Mosquito Program for this great video. What is important to add, is that in our attempts to mitigate the risks that mosquitoes pose to humanity, we need to be aware of the impact that the methods we employ have on the environment, both in the short and long term. I listened to a webinar by a very well learned, and extremely experienced friend of mine, Dr Bart Knols, and he talks about how after a thermal fogging treatment up to 72% of invertebrates in the vicinity were assumed dead approximately 3 hours after fogging, this includes target and non target (beneficial) species. This is a staggering number and the potential impact on the insect biomass worldwide is huge. The moral of the story is that whilst it is our responsibility to ensure that our clients and their guests have as comfortable and "pest free" stay as possible, it needs to be achieved in the most responsible and environmentally conscious manner possible to ensure the long term survival of insects. #pestcontrol #insectgeek #vectorcontrol
