Now that International Women’s History Month is over, it feels like a good time to remind my LinkedIn community that: 🎉 Your celebrations of women shouldn’t stop April 1. 📢 Your advocacy for women shouldn’t stop April 1. 🔬 Your focus on “women’s issues” (in quotes because women’s issue are issues for all) – shouldn’t stop April 1. 🤝 Your commitment to empowering, enabling, and elevating women shouldn’t stop April 1. Don’t just talk the talk – walk the walk. March, April, June, July – every day, every month, every year.

I think women’s groups, clubs, organizations, sororities, associations, etc. should spend their advocacy energy exclusively focused on women and equity centric policy priorities. This includes the many visits we make, individually and collectively, visiting our legislators on the hill. Exclusively. We should all sound like a broken record… on repeat. Advancing women centered and equity centered policy. What would you suggest as the top three policies women insist on… Exclusively.

The takeaways that Julie outlined are incredibly valuable: Hard work has no shortcuts—so true! Understanding the difference between being a leader and a manager is crucial. Leaning into others and gaining outside perspectives helps us grow. Networking internally is just as important as external networking. Great tip about having lunch or coffee dates with colleagues from different departments!
