In 1991, an IBM session promised me technology would be the great equalizer for people with disabilities. This vision has unfolded remarkably over the years. By December 2022, the introduction to ChatGPT marked a pivotal moment for me, showcasing the transformative power of AI and prompting me to incorporate it and tools like Stormz StreamAlive Drawify, Slido, and Otter.ai. into my work. My journey from those early tech days to now has been illuminated by pioneers like Keenan Wellar and LiveWorkPlay, who were early adopters of technology to support people to live independently. Businesses with robots and humans working side-by-side further highlight how far we've come. This video about intelligent robots emphasizes the potential for technology to continue breaking barriers. As we embrace this era of AI and robotics, I'm reminded of the importance of understanding and leveraging these advancements for the #GreaterGood. Let's work hard to ensure technology serves as a bridge to independence and inclusion for everyone - that it is the great equalizer. I'm thrilled yet "creeped out" at the same time by the advancements unfolding before us - vibes of "2001: A Space Odyssey." We are on the cusp of realizing the future that has been depicted in films and literature for decades. As Zain Kahn notes, the coming months and years promise to bring about remarkable transformations in how we do many things - work, play, and conduct research, grow, travel... The question arises, however: similar to how personal computers were supposedly going to augmented our productivity to give us so much more free time, will robots enhance our leisure time, or will we find ourselves busier and still overwhelmed? I believe the answer lies in the choices we make. It's up to us to decide how we utilize our newfound time. Unless we actively choose to dedicate this time to improving our health, happiness, and longevity, the feeling of being overwhelmed is inevitable. #FutureOfWork #TechTrends #ArtificialIntelligence #ProductivityHacks #LifestyleInnovation

Speed up response time for inference greatly (a la Groq), wrap this in silicone and attire, and get ready to dust off Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics for deployment sooner than expected ;) (Note - in reality I am interested in how (or if) the underpinning models can develop an accurate "world view" to inform their actions and interactions).

If this isn’t manipulated — I’m naturally skeptical about the entire scene, as you can imagine — if there isn’t another human being controlling the device, if this is actually its voice and if these are actually its movements, I’m really impressed. If AI can learn like a human child — observe, emulate, improve, grow, repeat — and if the robotics improve in the same accelerated fashion, there’s no limits to its application. We can program, teach, indoctrinate these androids to do anything we want. We can apply them on factory floors, warehouses and construction sites. We can replace human beings employed on boring, dangerous and repetitive jobs by these self-learning, extremely strong and powerful androids. We can program them to be obedient law-enforcers and soldiers, without empathy, ethics, moral and constraint, mass-construct them in the millions to fight our wars and exterminate the opposition. We can program them to do harm to others without compassion, deploy them on a massive scale to attack, destroy and conquer any adversary. The enemy will too, but we will get better and… Oh, I’m sorry, I got carried away. Because never ever in the history of mankind have we used technology for the bad, only for the good. Right?
