Congress: Support regenerative agriculture – a key solution for our climate, health, and water crises! This year, Congress will write our next farm bill, shaping the next 5-7 years of American agriculture policy. Governing everything from the way our food is produced, to how it is distributed and consumed, the farm bill determines the entirety of our food and ag system, but currently it supports industrial agriculture practices that prioritize commodities over communities. We think it’s time for a change. Soil is our common ground and our common good, so we are calling on Congress to support regenerative agriculture in the farm bill. Regenerative agriculture combines Indigenous knowledge, holistic management, and cutting edge science to work within the context of natural systems. It means healthier soils growing healthier foods, stronger local communities, more profitable regional economies, and more resilient environments. If you believe in a healthy, abundant future – for yourself, your family, and your community – sign and share the petition https://lnkd.in/g9yaWEWY

This year, Congress will write our next farm bill, shaping the next 5-7 years of American agriculture policy. The farm bill governs the way our food is produced, distributed, and consumed. Save Soil has partnered with Kiss the Ground initiative to garner support for Regenerative Agriculture: It means healthier soils growing healthier foods, stronger local communities, more profitable regional economies, and more resilient environments. Would you take 2 minutes of your time and sign the petition to demonstrate the breadth of support from the American public for regenerative agriculture? https://lnkd.in/dud47DU2

Last June, Leading Harvest hosted a Global Summit on Regenerative Agriculture in Chicago. The event brought together the organization’s global membership, representing over 3 million acres in farmland management across the U.S. and Australia, for the first time to advance sustainable agriculture objectives and scale collective impact. There are no straightforward solutions to the challenges facing our global food and agriculture systems, but the unlikely combination of attendees from across the value chain produced frank and fruitful conversations about obstacles that had not been discussed before. We look forward to our 2024 North America Summit for important conversations on the role of capital and land management in accelerating sustainability goals. The Power of Soil Aggregation in Regenerative Agriculture Did you know that healthy soil is the foundation of regenerative agriculture? Soil aggregation—when soil particles bind together into clusters—is a key factor in creating thriving ecosystems. These aggregates improve water infiltration, reduce erosion, and provide the perfect habitat for essential microbes and roots. In regenerative farming, we focus on building soil aggregation through practices like adaptive grazing and cover cropping. These methods enhance root exudates and microbial activity, creating biological “glue” that holds soil together. The result? Healthier plants, better water retention, and more nutrient-dense food. ✨ Healthy soil = healthy food = a healthier planet! ✨ Experience the difference of regenerative practices at Etta Hills Farm. Did you know that soil is alive? Beneath our feet lies a bustling world of microbes that play a pivotal role in regenerating the land. These tiny organisms work tirelessly to break down organic matter, cycle nutrients, and even communicate with plant roots through a process called rhizophagy. In regenerative agriculture, we prioritize the health of soil microbes by minimizing tillage, avoiding harmful chemicals, and maintaining ground cover. Healthy microbes mean healthier plants, richer nutrients in your food, and a more resilient ecosystem. This is the foundation of what we do at Etta Hills Farm. Our focus on soil health doesn’t just grow food—it regenerates the land for future generations. Learn more about how we’re transforming agriculture one field at a time at www.ettahillsfarm.com.

We’re proud to partner with Mars Petcare US, Inc. and Royal Canin to bring the benefits of regenerative agriculture to the pet food industry. Together, we're supporting corn farmers in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska with financial incentives to adopt practices like cover crops, no-till, and more. These efforts can support increased yields, lower greenhouse gas emissions, improved water quality, enhanced soil health, and biodiversity. Read the story here, and check out our 2024 Regenerative Agriculture Report to learn more about our journey and how ADM is building towards 5 million regenerative acres. https://bit.ly/4eJjbay
