Learn more about the history of our relationship with Veterans and the military from Ted Ryan, our Chief Archivist at Ford.
As we get closer to Veterans Day, I was thinking about Ford Motor Company’s long-standing relationship with those who served. Since 1903, Ford has prided itself on being a home for those who risked their lives to protect our country. It’s in our DNA to want to give back. I found some interesting items in our Heritage Vault that really speak to this relationship, and how it has shaped our future. I hope you’ll watch, and let me know what you think. To all the Veterans, thank you for your service.

Unpack the legend of the Willys MB, better known as the Jeep, a vehicle that revolutionized military transport during World War II. Ingeniously packed in wooden crates, disassembled for easy shipment, and ready for quick assembly on the battlefield, these Jeeps arrived in peak condition, ready to tackle the harsh terrains of war. Developed in 1941 by Willys-Overland Motors in response to the U.S. military’s needs, the Jeep featured four-wheel drive and a rugged design, making it an essential tool for military forces. Ford also contributed to the effort by producing the GPW model. As the war came to a close, Willys shifted its focus to producing civilian versions, laying the foundation for the Jeep brand we know today. The origin of the name "Jeep" is debated—some say it comes from the pronunciation of GP (General Purpose), while others credit Popeye’s sidekick, Eugene the Jeep. Today, Jeep stands as an enduring symbol of durability and versatility in the off-road vehicle market, with its legacy firmly etched in history #jeep

What a Happy Friday! I started at Centric Software in September of 2015. At that time we had around 125 customers and around that many employees. WE JUST HIT 1000 CUSTOMERS!! It has been an honor to be a part of such an amazing trajectory, but more importantly, I am also honored to have created so many great/lasting relationships with the people at the customers who trust us. It's really a family. Best people, Best customers, Best Solutions, has ALWAYS been the winning combination! Our innovation cannot be matched by ANY of our competitors, and that is why we continue to be the best choice for companies. The commitment from the people who work at Centric and who support our customers, is simply unmatched. The level of business acumen of my peers, astounds me. Sales can be a rollercoaster, but when on top of all of the above, the fact that I can say that I also love the team of people I work with; it's saying a lot about the company overall. Cheers to welcoming the next 1000 Customers! #Unicorn #PLM #Planning #MarketIntelligence #VisualBoards #SingleSourceofTruth
1000 Customers! I am deeply humbled and grateful for all of our customers (now 1000!) partnership. Also for the army of Centric employees and partners who strive everyday to deliver the promises made!

Motivation Monday – Honoring Veterans' Sacrifice Today, on Veterans Day, we are reminded of the commitment and sacrifice that our soldiers have made for this country. They didn’t just show up; they dedicated themselves fully to something larger than themselves. That kind of courage and discipline is a powerful example for all of us in our work and our lives. If there’s one thing we can take from the service and sacrifice of veterans, it’s that we owe it to ourselves, our teams, and our customers to never settle. Sales reps should always be pushing to improve, never letting the status quo or a light calendar hold them back. And managers, let’s drive our teams to this same standard—because excellence isn’t an option; it’s a duty. Veterans didn’t serve halfway, and we cannot perform halfway. The blank space on a calendar is wasted potential, and settling for “good enough” is a disservice to the opportunities in front of us. Stay committed to the hustle, growth, and grit as a way of honoring those who gave so much for us. #MotivationMonday #VeteransDay #HonorTheirSacrifice #CommitToExcellence #NeverSettle #PushForGrowth #SalesSuccess #LeadByExample #NoStatusQuo #HustleAndGrind #ContinuousImprovement #WolfMentality

Role of FORD in wartime ✈️ 🌟 Honoring a Historic Milestone: The B-24 Liberator Bomber 🌟 On this day, October 3, 1940, Ford Motor Company unveiled the first mass-produced B-24 Liberator bomber at the Willow Run assembly plant in Michigan. This moment marked a pivotal achievement in wartime production and showcased Ford’s remarkable ability to adapt its manufacturing expertise for the military. The Willow Run plant, which began operations earlier that year, was a groundbreaking facility designed specifically for the mass production of aircraft. With its innovative assembly line techniques, Ford revolutionized the way military aircraft were built, significantly increasing output and efficiency. This was a true testament to Henry Ford's vision of mass production, which had transformed the automotive industry. The B-24 Liberator went on to become one of the most produced bombers in history, playing a crucial role in the Allied war effort during World War II. Its long range and heavy payload allowed it to conduct strategic bombing missions, which helped disrupt enemy supply lines and ultimately contributed to the victory. Today, we honor the legacy of Ford's innovation and commitment to supporting our troops. The B-24 is a reminder of how industrial ingenuity can change the course of history. Let’s celebrate the spirit of collaboration and determination that defined that era and continues to inspire us today! #Ford #History #B24Liberator #Aviation #WartimeProduction #Innovation #Leadership #weareford #usa

Commercial vs Army Goods I have received tons of vehicle, truck, and other driving Equpiments parts never ever had problems receiving Uncle Sam parts, While commercial it was nightmare! Did you experience the same! Military hardware is subject to stringent testing (DFARs compliance) and certification processes to ensure they meet the required specifications for strength, durability, and reliability, while commercial parts typically undergo less testing and certification.
