On Friday, some of the Pure team attended a speaker event hosted by Marcus Child called ‘Personal Power’ and it is fair to say they had the BEST afternoon. 🌟 The event was all about building resilience, resourcefulness and creating results. Marcus challenges us to embark on a quest for adventure in both our professional and business lives. During the event he spoke of his first-hand experience from working with highly successful executives, athletes, entertainers and many more! The whole afternoon had the team’s jaw on the floor, it was truly the most motivating and empowering event.

Saturday Reminder: Invest in your team. That's not just your colleagues. It is your family and friends. As my friend Chris Donnelly says, your team will define your life. The least you can do in return is invest your time, love and money in them. If this resonates, follow me Will McTighe for more.

So True. The cost of turnover doesn't begin and end at the hiring process. Countless hours of onboarding, training, mentoring and coaching go into the post hiring process. Pay 'em; they are worth every penny. #turnover #cost #employeesatisfaction #pay #earnedincome #peopleleadership #humanresourcedevelopment #workforcedevelopment

There’s a reason athletes find enjoyment in the game of business It’s one of the only “playing fields” left to conquer after your competitive days are over. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the 3 “genes” that turn high-level athletes into successful biz owners: 1. The Failure Gene Some people experience failure and its crippling. They run the other direction never to return. But others are motivated by it to get better and win the next time around. As an athlete, you stare failure in the face from a very young age 2. The Competitive Gene Do you hate to lose? And love to win? And does the thought of going head-to-head with another player, team, league give you a HUGE adrenaline rush? High-level athletes will respond with a resounding YES 3. The Teamwork Gene We all know the teams that have: - all the talent but the players don’t mesh - one star player and a supporting cast But, consistent in all winning teams is the combination of 1) talent and 2) the ability to work together towards a common goal Tag some of the best former athletes you know that are crushing it in the world of business! Here's a few of mine: Ramin Ettehad Dan White Ian Mindham Emma Spisak, Mary Spisak, Anna Spisak Steven Spisak (the GOAT) Mike Powell Matthew Nelson Kyle Bertin Barrett O'Neill

Don't rely on anyone but yourself. Think about the countless people you’ve communicated with throughout your life and the hopes you placed on some, envisioning brilliant plans together. Now, consider where they are now. There are many reasons why you may have stopped communicating with many of them or don't communicate as often as you used to. Your goals and plans might have fallen apart because you depended on others rather than on yourself. It's incredibly beneficial to have a reliable team, and building one takes time. However, if you can achieve this, your business becomes unstoppable. Rely on yourself first, and build a solid team that complements your strengths.

Building something new is scary But it's the only way a business survives It often means rebelling, not taking no for an answer. It also means creating a system that works by itself so that you can step away from being in the trenches. It's tempting as a founder to be there the whole time. Involved with every detail. A lot of people even see it as good work ethic. But it's not sustainable. You will burn out. You will lose. You will become irrelevant. Step aside, empower others to take over. Build a team, use a system that works. Take a damn vacation. Then come back to inspire your team. If you don't have one, check your ego, and get one. Sincerely A letter to a founder

Some people oppose my choice of taking inspiration from individuals like Harshad Mehta. However, I believe in a different approach: learning from others' mistakes saves time and builds strength. Let's use this wisdom to achieve our goals faster and smarter. I learned several valuable lessons from Harshad Mehta: 1. The power of dreams. 2. Value the work, not the position. 3. Start your own endeavors. 4. A crash can't crush you. 5. When one door shuts, another opens. 6. Build a strong team. 7. Develop your network.

How to workout if you can afford to grow a team. 3 questions to ask yourself: 1. Do I want to be in exactly the same place this time next year? 2.Am I spending most of my time doing the things I love, bring me joy and generate income? 3.Am I happy to keep making sacrifices at home and personally for the sake of my business? If you answered 'NO' to any of these questions........you can't afford NOT to grow your team. You will never feel ready, but you will always feel thankful you took the step. However scary it feels. But that is exactly what I do - help you feel informed, prepared and confident in your decision making when it comes to getting support. Growing with people - however few or many, is the difference between you having a job vs a business! A job keeps you trapped in the day to day - A business gives you time & choice! I made my first hire before I even really made any recurring revenue. I knew having a business and a baby meant I had to get support sooner rather than later.... ... otherwise I'd forever be over working, sacrificing family time and beating myself up about my limited capacity to do it all! And since then, I have helped hundreds of business owners get support at home and in their business Specifically: -What role they need -What tasks to delegate -Where to hire -How to onboard -How to train -How to delegate and give feedback -How to get the best out of people All so you can get an ROI in the first months of bringing in support. And while you spend more of your time doing what you love and are good at. Win Win! P.S - my group program 'Build a Business Beyond You' covers all of this!
