According to new Eleos research, #SDOH factors — things like financial stress, housing instability, and caregiving responsibilities — come up in 86% of therapy conversations. Not all that surprising, considering the clear link between social determinants of health (SDOH) and client therapy progress. And it's great to see that therapists are aware of and actively addressing SDOH factors in-session. Unfortunately, the same study revealed that only 52% of progress notes mention SDOH — meaning these discussions often go undocumented. That’s a huge problem, because it: ❌ Limits a provider’s ability to tailor interventions effectively over the entire course of care. ❌ Threatens care continuity from session to session. ❌ Hinders advocacy efforts at the system level, making it nearly impossible to effect change at scale. 👀 Peep the comments for a link to the full research recap by Shiri Sadeh-Sharvit, PhD🎗️, and learn more about what it means for #BehavioralHealth providers. 👇

For individuals with complex medication regimens for behavioral health conditions, one-size-fits-all approaches to care make it harder for them to keep up with treatment adherence and maintain good quality of life. As the healthcare system evolves towards outcomes-based care models, pharmacies committed to the care of their local community play an essential role in customizing treatment to individual needs and empowering individual health. https://hubs.la/Q02lZZMF0 #BehavioralHealth #Healthcare

When Cori E. McMahon, Psy.D., NCCE was asked, "What are some emerging trends for monitoring treatment and improving patient outcomes?" she shared insightful perspectives: "Surprisingly, even though we’ve been discussing measurement-informed care (measurement-based care/MBC) for some time, it is still not standard practice across the behavioral health continuum. Providers who are routinely measuring progress in treatment are experiencing improvements in quality of care and in the experience for both themselves and their patients. On a larger scale, we are seeing valuable payer-provider partnerships come together, facilitated by behavioral health tech, allowing screening and triage to care at the population level. This is making significant strides in improving access to care in general, and most importantly, access to QUALITY care." #erphealth #behavioralhealth #mentalhealth
