PVC4Cables’ Post

Low Smoke Acidity PVC Compounds for Electrical Cables: Flammability and Smoke Production Versus Halogen-Free Options At the recent 4th PVC4Cables Conference in Prague, Laura Mazzocchetti of Università di Bologna underlined how in reality, and contrary to common perception, acidity is a secondary parameter in #firesafety. Carbon monoxide (CO) emerges as the leading threat in the effluents produced during a fire. Studies also reveal that the smoke production from #PVCcables can be significantly mitigated, almost aligning with #halogenfree #cables, through the strategic use of appropriate flame retardants and smoke suppressants. https://lnkd.in/d7neQa2D
